Hello everyone. I'm glad to hear that all of us have now had some rain, including us, it makes such a difference to the garden and plants. Our plants unfortunately, seem to be going into Autumn mode as the leaves are turning and beginning to die off. However, not too worried as we have decided to replace our Storm Β Arwen damaged fence so if the plants are on their way out, we wont worry too much if things get trod on etc,( although the chap assured us they wouldn't. We've had them before and are as good as their word).Β

Have had word today that our new armchair is being delivered tomorrow....four months of waiting for it.

LB, glad, your blood tests are okay, fingers crossed for your BP now.🀞

Afternoon all. I decided to go early into town for Canasta but had to wait for 30 (hot) minutes at the bus stop. I was chatting to a guy who was also waiting and I was complaining about getting cobwebs we'd been waiting so long. Turns out there were some road works on the M60 so traffic was diverting and causing all sorts of congestion.
Despite that, I had a great afternoon playing cards and catching up with my friends.
T'Bird woo hoo - at last! Hope you get another burst soon but maybe it will persist down when you are away on your hols and you will come back to a rainforest!
You are right about the air fryer having to stay out - its is imposing in Bestie's kitchen and as mine is - as Rosie said - bijou, and it drives me nuts with its lack of work space, I would be giving buying one serious thought. Its the economy aspect that is very attractive as is its speed in preparing a full meal in the blink of an eye.
Great to see you Hazel. You are not alone in having plants go into this 'false autumn' the Beeb mentioned the other day. It sounds as though you have a good workman there and it will be nice seeing your plants perk up again after the new fence is installed

The chainsaw noise this morning was because a big branch of the willow tree by the village pond on the other side of the road to us had fallen onto a bench where people sometimes sit on the small village green. The willow has been pollarded.

I trimmed our side of the front hedge, horrid Leylandii that NDN planted years ago, this morning. Did some weeding this afternoon. Knee often aches but some days it's worse and other days I hardly notice it.

A very good morning everyone. Ante, its time for you to have a little switch off from school. I expect you will be busy at the cottage this weekend. Ruby will be in the garden - weather permitting as will I later on. T'Bird, you will be packing furiously but find time to celebrate your wedding anniversary on Monday. I remember this as its also the same day as my Sis and BIL's. Whatever you have planned for this long weekend I hope it is a good one for you all.

Busy, I am champing at the bit to get the inside of my front hedge cut but the wood pigeons, who have been nest building, have meant I've had to put that task on hold. At least you should have a quieter day today. Was the bench badly damaged or did it manage to escape?

Slept like a log, best night's sleep I've had for a long time. Hope everyone slept well too.
Sun is shining and forecast is quite good at the moment.
Goodness Busy, good job nobody was sitting on the bench at the time.Β Β
Our NDN have been saying for ages they were going to cut their Leylandii down, do hope it's soon they are getting huge.
