Good morning SGL. It is pouring down here and so dark that I have put my lights on so sounds very similar to you. Apparently we are in a false Autumn and this is why our trees, struggling to cope with the lack of water, are shedding their leaves. This could also have a big impact on the wildlife.Β  I did hear a little bit of good news for T'Bird - rain is on the way. Fingers crossed.

Absolutely pouring down here now. I've put the table lamp on. Our oak tree is shedding it's leaves and the acorns are falling. Very early.Β  I've seen some conkers on the ground too when I was walking to the village yesterday. Still in their spikey coats but still falling early.Β
The birds are scuttling around the garden at the moment. Have you seen many bees or wasps this year LB.Β  There's been a few bees, but I haven't seen any wasps this year.Β

SGL, I have seen a few bees but not in the numbers I've seen them in the past. My cardoons and echinops are usually alive with several bees on each flower head but now they just seem to be singles. The most upsetting is the almost total lack of butterflies though I did see a common blue butterfly the other day enjoying the flowers of my delosperma.
I have seen one wasp in my garden - again a huge drop in numbers. Its all very concerning.

    Morning all,

Damp start this morning - doesn't look promising for golf later :(Β

I've grown Nigella for the first time this year - don't think I'll be collecting any seeds from this one!

Sorry to hear that you'll no longer be posting @Chivetalking. Hope that you're ok.

I do hope that it is nothing we have done to upset you and that all is OK in your world. You know where we are and how to find us so I do hope that you may drop by now and again to let us know how you are doing. I, personally, will miss you greatly. Love and hugs to you. x
