So you are another handy brother Biglad? You are doing a grand job keeping precious plants ticking over.
I am thinking of giving shopping a miss this morning and going early tomorrow instead. I would have gone this morning - first thing - but once the cat duties were done I couldn't work up the enthusiasm to shop. Should have been going to Canasta today but the buses are still on strike.

Good grief! Where has the morning gone? Just in out of the garden - trying to avoid looking at those plants begging for a drink. It's 27°C out there right now. Bet I could fry an egg on the top of my car - not that I am about to try I hasten to add!

  • Hello all.  We were about to go to acupuncture but cancelled due to the therapist needing emergency dental treatment.  Cooling down in a floaty dress.  Ante not as warm here as yours but warmer than it has been.  I had poached eggs for lunch and Alfie’s enjoying a snooze.  Ante so sad to hear that food needs to be provided for the animals.  LB good idea to have a bin for grain away from the kitchen, mine is rather bijoux too.  Lily I hope you and oh are managing to sleep in these warm temperatures.  I just wear cotton at night and lay on top of the bed.  Top bird are you having a G&T in the garden.  I was around 19 when I first tried one with ice and lemon.  Chive I went on a course to Whitham for a few days and had a walk round.  The weather was rather warm and I stayed at a local hotel there.  Busy I hope you can keep cool.  I hope Hazel is keeping well.  Enjoy your day everyone.

    Hello all.

Only a few days now before I go to Norfolk, Wednesday.

This morning I went to collect the winter duvet from the cleaners so I thought I'd have a look round Ribérac market. It was packed, almost as many English voices as French. Luckily someone drove out of a parking place, the car park was full. It was all very animated and colourful. I've never seen such huge tomatoes! Loads of clothes stalls, also shoes, handbags, bedding and plants. But food of all sorts was the main part. I've been before but not in the summer holidays.

Son 1 and family are coming tomorrow afternoon. It should be just over 2 hours drive for him but some of the roads are closed because of the forest fires along the west coast so it will probably take longer.

I'm helping at the village fete tomorrow morning, selling raffle tickets. I have to bake a cake this afternoon to sell. I hope it doesn't make the kitchen hot. I'm doing a spiced apple and fruit cake as I don't want icing that will melt.

Good evening all. Hope you are all coping with the heat. I cannot concentrate on anything but before I forget - and I'm sorry its late - for Busy's daughter

I hope that she is feeling better today Busy. I LOVE French markets. There is a wonderful one every Sunday in La Londe les Maures and we love going down and soaking up the ambience. Hope that your son doesn't have to go too far out of his way.

    Thank you LB.

    Watered between 8 and 9pm.
Made a spiced apple fruit cake for the summer fête tomorrow and a small one for us for the weekend.
The 2 spare bedrooms are ready for Son, DIL and 3 little granddaughters. All bedrooms are hot, 30°. Cooling down now so opened all the windows. I hope the mozzies stay away.

    Good morning all.

Windy and much nicer morning than few last days. It's not too hot. After work at cottage I slept very well. Can't believe it, but I missed last two GW episodes. Hope to find them on net to watch.

Time for tea. Have a nice day!
