Carol King LB. Evening all, Had a couple of days looking after the boys but they have gone off to visit their Grandma and Pops in the Lake District with their Dad. Secondborn has jetted off to Turkey and Firstborn is idling her life away in Menorca. All of that means a quiet life for me. The only thing in my diary for the next week or so is feeding Bestie's cat. Glad little cat is back home @Ante1
Hello there Pauline. Yes, it was definitely a male who sang the version I recall. I looked it up too and apparently Carole King also had a version of the song but she actually wrote it for Bobby Vee so both correct.

I went to see the stage musical Beautiful, all about Carol King and her hits. My older sister had a copy of her singing it too, it was one of my favourites. She did originally write it for Bobby Vee but she had the hit with it. Bobby Vee did put it on an album but his big hit at that time was The Night Has a Thousand Eyes. I loved that one too. It's one of the advantages of having a sister 12 years older than you are. I could pinch all her records and dress up in her best clothes.

I didn't slept well. We are in the middle of another (fourth) heath wave this summer and it's unbearable. Hope to have some rest, because I'll go to the cottage late afternoon. My apologies to miss probably many things here, but on this weather I can't force myself to reed, write or anything else.
