Floralies thanks for letting me know. I don’t suppose you could wave a distinctive flag.  We will of course be watching as usual. 😁

To be honest Pat I don't know how these people can stand out in the sun just to watch the riders wizz by, the scenery is much more interesting!

    Good morning/afternoon all.

Had 'one of those mornings '.... Not too bad but a wild goose chase for a jack for the new car, managed to get a puncture at the campsite and although I'd made a point of buying a car with a spare tyre, not standard practice here, it turned out when I went to change the tyre there was no jack in the car. 😱

I'd got another car here because Charlie's dad came separately,  but it's smaller and the jack wouldn't raise the new car high enough to get the tyre off. 4 or 5 garages/car parts shops later we ended up buying 2 paving stones from a GC to get it to reach. Anyway, all sorted now and we've had a lovely tour of the local area. 😅

This is the view from our chalet as we have lunch, we are seeing (and smelling) the smoke from the forest fires in the Gironde. A little eerie.

Floralies the scenery is lovely.  I’ve been trying to work out what the broad leaf trees are. Not the conifers.  Are they oaks? Can’t imagine which they are, and our bike_crazy commenter only talks about wrecked castles, churches and the cyclists. 🤬  it’s does look very hot for them. They left Carcasson this morning. Can’t remember the name of their destination. Something like FOIR?    Don’t blame you for not standing out in that sunshine.

Afternoon all, it's actually a bit cooler today at 31c  and there's a bit of a breeze from the west. We slept quite well and didn't wake up till 9.30 am. We've kept the windows and curtains closed as advised, it is cooler inside but so gloomy!

Feel very sorry for Londoners and others in cities, hope you are all coping ok.

We had a very pleasant hour plus in the SM,  I also got a new battery for my watch at the shoe repair place opposite.  The only problem with being in air conditioning is when you come out again 🥵. It reminded me of when you leave a cold grey GB and come off the plane somewhere hot like Greece or Spain . Now there's a strong wind but it's so hot.

Hi folks, still frying here.  Had a lovely day on Sunday at Firstborn's.  The weather was perfect for a visit from my niece who is over from Oz.  Hadn't seen her for about 8 years as I was on holiday the last time she came back.  My sister, my other niece, her husband and Secondborn were there too.  It was the first time some of them had met Gabriel.  We had a lovely BBQ and stayed in the garden until late.
Since then I haven't been out apart from popping out late at night to water the veg and pots.  I've felt a bit like a mole living in the dark with windows and curtains shut against the heat.  The sitting room curtains have just been opened as the sun moves towards the back of the house at this time of day.  We have the fan on to keep the air circulating and that helps.
We haven't had a problem sleeping as we have a portable air con unit bought many years ago that gets an airing very occasionally. It's worth it's weight in gold.  Have been wearing a very light weight t shirt type nightie as it's cool and airy.  Stay safe everyone.

We are probably going to bed shortly since it’s almost midnight. We’ll watch the rest tomorrow.

Good grief @tui34!  We have an extra deep mattress that was a bugger for the delivery chaps to get up our stairs.  I can't imagine struggling to get it outside in this heat.  But I do pull the covers back and let it air.
Lovely views @D0rdogne_Damsel - but sad that they should be spoiled by smoke from the wildfires.
Night night @Pat E.  This heat is making me very tired but I have a meeting at 6pm (outside, in the countryside) and am hoping that a shower will both wake me up and refresh me.
