26.2 in the lounge, it's risen 2 degrees since midday.  The greenhouse  sensor tells me it's 39 in there,  even with door and windows open and some shade from the old Bramley apple tree . Should be going to yoga tonight,  not sure if I will risk it.

It's 32C in the kitchen, but it was a rather warm, sweaty 47C in the polytunnel at 11am when i watered in there.

Just been for a quick wander round, 38C and some of the pots seem in terminal decline.
Still coolish in my study, north side of house, thick outside walls. I might spend the night in here.

Been keeping indoors for the most part to avoid the heat. I ventured out into the garden early on for watering the veg patch. This afternoon we were getting buzzed by American fighter aircraft (an F35 and F15 for those who need to know) probably practising for the Farnborough airshow which is on this week. They passed low over the house about 8 times so I stepped out into the garden to get some photos and promptly got bitten several times by some sort of horsefly.

Some children in a nearby garden are playing with a hosepipe and sprinkler … lots of squealing going on … do you think they’d let a batty old woman join in?

Afternoon all, I'd rather like a paddling pool Dove.

We lost our internet connection again this morning and had another BT text apologising and suggesting that we could track our fault - online!  They told us we might not get re-connected until midnight Thursday. Had a moment of panic as I'd only reserved my SM slot for Thursday with a rather expensive bottle of champagne - oops! However as you can see we're back on again so I've hastily completed the rest of my order. If I disappear again, it'll probably be BT again.

We're up to 35c now so indoors where it's cooler, drinking lots of water and had crisps with lunch. Actually we also had doughnuts this morning, fresh from the baker as I had a craving for some stodge. One can get a bit tired of just salad and fruit.

That's quite an achievement @Lyn, well done your daughter.

My poor grandson tested positive this morning so had to cancel his highly anticipated school trip to Thorpe Park today, he's gutted as they break up on Wednesday so won't see his friends this week. His sister's rather apprehensive as it's her birthday later this week and she's also leaving primary - so lots of parties planned.

Hope you have a good trip on Thursday @punkdoc.

    Hang on in there @Hostafan1.

We’re getting off lightly here - only 31.  That’s the advantage of being surrounded by trees 🌳.  Haven’t been out much - only to see the same fighter jets as @steephill saw - luckily minus the horsefly 😁

Big hugs 🤗 to @Hostafan1.  Just a heartbreaking situation 💔

    Evening all.

Work was disgustingly hot but I could stay in the office for most of it, so although hot at least it wasn’t PPE and physical activity like the ward staff had to deal with. Headache despite 3 litres of fluid intake. Going to one of the other hospitals tomorrow where there is air con. The estates manager was telling us that the air con may not work after 30-35 degrees. Seems a bit of a design flaw to me.

I hope everyone is managing ok.
