Morning all! I slept through till 6.15! Can’t remember last time I did that. Feeling very perky this morning. Only 16C out at the moment. The unfinished flower bed is in the shade, and looking very tempting. Maybe today is the day I’ll get out and sort it ready for planting.

Morning Wonky. Long time no see. 😁

hope you are all managing with your weather. We are currently watching yesterday’s Tour and they are really suffering with the heat in France.still 42 km to go, so I’ll leave you all for a while. 😂

Morning all. Sunny and warm already here and no wind (so far). What I dont understand is why it is so very cold overnight, often getting down to 10 - 12? Absolutely freezing after the warmth of the day.
Firing up the old Land Rover later this morning for my weekly trip down to the village stores, but first more tea and then breakfast - always late as I dont do lunch.
Keep cool everyone and enjoy your weekend.

    Hi all

    Glorious day here.
Still suffering with my back, but have managed an hours watering. Time to settle down and watch the rugby.

Morning all,  enjoying the respite and cooler mornings and evenings dreading the predicted heat bomb.
Spent about 4 hours at SD'S garden yesterday managed to get quite a few plants in for her. They are so busy the garden is getting away from her.
On the down side I took the advice from the RHS  expert at the Hampton Court show, and investigated the Osmanthus which has been looking very sick for a while.  The bad news is it's Honey fungus, so it must come out. My bigger worry is for an Acer, less than 2m away,  some of its roots are entangled with the Osmanthus roots.  😩

    Morning all!

Sitting under the pergola with a chilled sparkling .... water with a lemon slice!!  A good book and a peek at the site.

We have a breeze today which is better than yesterday and the temperatures are to be set for 36°C/39°C from midday onwards - which is inside weather.

Walked the dog - it was already 23°C at 6.30am.  Tied up a few tomatoes that were straggling this morning.  Picked a couple of cucumbers and mint for a salad at lunchtime.  2 huge courgettes that got away from me and an aubergine.  It's 28°C  now and already too warm to be moving around.

Enjoy the rugby @punkdoc    As a kiwi, I don't think I can comment very much!!  Bring it home Ireland!
Yes @Pat E   I don't know how they can cycle in this heat - and what about the poor soldiers in the military parade in Paris on the 14th for Bastille Day?!!  Crazy Frenchmen!!
I hope you catch that mole @Busy-Lizzie

    Another lazy day.  Ho-hum.
A good hoeing is worth two waterings.

Phew!  That one is finished. Good though.  Time for dinner.

Last night Hubby made 4 pies with flaky pastry and a filling on smoked salmon, prawns and cream sauce, yum. We had one each last night and will have the other two tonight.  I’ll take a photo of the last two.

Yes Dove. They were delicious.  I think I’ve overeaten though. 😳
