We’ve been cold all day. Now at 7.30 pm the house is warm.  😡

Have you had the wood burner on all day @Pat E? We find that a cold wind can often make a difference to the house temperature especially in the winter.

Morning all, and another lovely welcome, Dove! Made me feel very positive and cheerful!
Rain forecast today, so we decided to have a day at home and get indoor jobs done. Backlog is huge, mainly tasks OH has to do, but will be competing with Formula 1 and tennis. Popped out to Sainsbury’s for fresh bread and my favourite beer ( which Waitrose no longer stock) And the sun was out, looked glorious. However raining now, and I’ve only just finished a very leisurely breakfast!

Yes Floralies. It’s been on all day as well as the little air con in the living room.

Not surprised you are a bit fed up @Allotment Boy - would have been nice to be there when the VIPs were admiring all your hard work 😓.

Friends for lunch today - just harvested new potatoes, peas and radishes to have with a couple of quiches that the nice man at the supermarket made for me 😉.  In my defence multiple road closures meant we didn’t get back til gone midnight, so little time to be a domestic goddess even if I had the inclination.

Sweet peas for the table too - luverrly 🥰

What a PITA @Allotment Boy - is this the same D as was recently bereaved? Maybe he hasn't got his head straight yet.  Don't worry about it too much, I'm sure the VIPs will take on board all the hard work you and the volunteers do.  As my Dad used to say "I'm all right - it's the others!"
Lovely welcome to July @Dovefromabove.  You are welcome to the Campari and soda.  I remember years ago going for drinks and chose that to start with.  But then couldn't think what else to drink so just drank more of it.  Too much. I won't go into details. Haven't been able to drink it since.
I may have a potter in the garden this afternoon...  Not following the tennis this year.

Hi folks,  Had a busy morning removing a huge ants nest from the conservatory.  They had crept up through the well and and set up home in a couple of plants.  Had to take them outside and wash them off.  They can stay out there for a while until I'm sure they have all gone.  Washed away thousands of eggs and then sprayed the conservatory.  I love wildlife but not in the house.  Not sue whether ants bite or sting but they certainly had a good go at me.
    Enjoy your day folks.

Afternoon all, having a lazy day after yesterday's long drive home. Itching to get out in the garden but it's been a bit drizzly - had to dash out and bring the washing in quickly.
Our SM delivery arrived in time but half was covered in split milk so had some refunds and was able to wash it off the rest.

That was rather a disappointment @Allotment Boy, 'D' might have texted you the revised time but as Dove says, perhaps he's not quite organised yet.

Oooh, I can see some blue sky - time to get going methinks.
