Morning everyone,  quite dull and breezy here this am. I will try to come and say hello on Friday @chicky, but you know what shows are like it can all get a bit busy.

Still catching up, almost there. You have all been so busy with various activities from gardening to tennis watching via Hampton Court flower show, not to mention folk having bad dreams and waking up feeling quite disorientated. I see that Busy is well on the way to recovery, has rescued her garden and enjoyed a meal at a place she has always wanted to visit. The Doc has enjoyed the wilds of Scotland but arrived home to find that his garden has done some wilding of its own while he's been away. Dove has been playing a guitar while her son cooked a roast dinner and her OH did some garden watching in his dressing gown. PatE is sadly suffering from cold hands while knitting and holding a hot cup of tea at the same time. DD is getting Charlie to read books that are falling apart whilst looking forward to her new car - be careful DD, new cars are a hazard to drive, they bleep and ping all the time to tell you all about the mistakes you are making with your driving. Me? I'm just noodling on here while doing doggy sitting duties while daughter is at work - enjoy the rest of your day folks, catch you later.

It's very dry up on the Shady Bank ... I've got the soaker hose running for a couple of hours ... I didn't have to use it at all last year ... I had hoped not to use it this year either, but large plants and clems are looking desperate ... having looked at the clems in the front garden I may have to plug that one in a bit later ...

Not much rain in the next fortnight, according to the forecast, so if it's dry now, it isn't going to get any better soon.
Possibly summer is about to arrive (except for NW Scotland, obvs). Brace yourselves......

Goat cheese for tea last night! I wonder if that contributed to the dreams?
Spent three hours in the garden this morning, pulled up loads of brambles, trimmed back one of the bay trees and removed a row of ferns that had popped up under some pieris. All the rubbish shredded and in the green bin. Had to go to B and Q this afternoon, so I treated myself to enough flowers to fill a hanging basket, then round to Tesco to fill up with petrol. OH remarked how fortunate we are to be retired and don’t have to do much mileage.

Afternoon all, I had funny dreams as well but didn't eat any cheese. Can't abide the smell of goat's cheese.

I've spent most of the day on my hands and knees weeding the lawn side of my main border, then the left hand border and deadheaded my climbing rose Claire Austin. After a short rest I got the long handled lawn shears out and trimmed the lawn all the way round but then had to crawl round for the fourth time to pick up the pieces. Absolutely knackered now!

Easy fish and chips for dinner tonight I think.

What an eventful day.  I know we don't talk politics on the thread so that's all I'll say.
Evening all,  Busy again today,  went to 'fat club' this morning, as I affectionately call it and lost just a pound this week but at least I'm still going in the right direction.  Then had my hair cut and finally had to go for breast screening.  After all that I came home and edged the lawns.  I've had to put the sprinkler on @Dovefromabove We have got a soaker hose round the garden but it's fell into disrepair and I can't sort it out until the autumn without damaging all the plants.
