    Good morning all … 😊 ☕️
A bright dry morning here and 13C. Lots of activity not too far away …lorries and skips … think someone over the way and along a bit has the builders in … looks like an extension is happening.
I’ve got my second visit to the dental hygienist today so another trip into the city … what unaccustomed excitement 😉

Ah! The latest noise is a large ready-mixed concrete lorry discharging its load at the aforementioned house … looks like all systems go!

Morning everyone,  no storm or heavy rain here, but at the Allotments yesterday people told me they had heavy rain there. Must say it still looked pretty dry, certainly on the surface. Picking,  Broad beans,  lettuce rocket, globe artichokes,  and soft fruits.
We went shopping yesterday 😱,  managed to get a1 tog duvet , hopefully better on these warm nights when a sheet alone is not quite enough.  Picked up some other bits and pieces we've been looking out for.

We have a 4.5 tog duvet for the summer ... but when it's too warm for that (like the other night) we have a cellular cotton blanket (the sort you get in hotels). It's perfect for warm nights, and if the 4.5 tog duvet isn't quite warm enough the blanket over the top is just enough.

Drove past this the other day at Chatsworth. Originally from the Burning Man festival in Nevada. Apparently on the hour it starts to "fly" for a minute.

Fantastic pics of the woodpeckers @Hostafan1
How lovely to be with the grandkids @Yviestevie - happy birthday to Mabel (lovely name!).  We were invited round for a meal at daughter's yesterday for Father's Day.  Our two granddaughters appear to say hello, then are around for the meal then disappear back into their rooms again.  Normal for 15 and 16 year olds.  Older one has A levels next year.  Went to the uni stand at the Norfolk Show and picked up leaflets but has no idea what she wants to do yet.  She is the youngest in her year, being an August birthday so it seems a bit unfair to pressure her into applying for uni too soon.  I'm counselling don't worry about it until next year and maybe then apply - but take a gap year first.
What was it with the red sky last night?  Loads of pics of it from on the local FB pages.
Unless it's actually hot at night I take a hot water bottle to bed - I love having it on my back which seems to ache more and more these days.
Glad you are feeling better @punkdoc - hope for your holiday!
