Morning all Happy Birthday @Pat E sounds as if Pixel is finding her feet outside now! Cats eh! We had some useful rain overnight and now it's much cooler. SM shop this morning. Hope you are OK @Busy-Lizzie.
I know that looks awful ... Nature's pruning regime can be a bit radical ... but just think how quickly hedges recover when the farmer has been along with a Bushwhacker ... a month or so and there'll be fresh green leaves on there.

@Busy-Lizzie your Covid sounds exactly like MIL's experience of it ... the first sign was a really rotten night ... then a few days with a heavy cold and headache and a bit of a fever ... then a week or so of feeling weak and tiring easily. Do try not to overdo it ... give your body the chance to recover ... you don't want a post-viral fatigue to set in.

What a stressful birthday @Pat E! But glad Pixel is safe and sound. Beautiful day here today. Need to sort out what I'm going to take to the plant sale tomorrow for In Bloom. I'm afraid to say that I bought a bag of compost with peat in it to boost my tomato plants. It is so lovely, dark and crumbly. But I feel so naughty. I repotted the tomatoes I am taking to the plant sale in that, mixed with compost from my bin and they (and mine) are doing much better now. They are about the same size as they were this time last year but being behind meant that they didn't get blight (at least I think that's the reason) so I'm hoping for the same this year. And I have loads of francoas! I sowed the seeds last year and they are about to bloom this year so hopefully they will all go.
Happy Birthday @PatE hope you have managed to recover from the Pixel shock. Naughty girl, maybe she wont be so keen to go off exploring in the future. Take it steadily @Busy-Lizzie, get plenty of rest. Another beautiful day here, off this morning to trim the hooves of a few of our ponies - in the shade of some large trees in the corner of one of our fields.
OH is sorting out the wiring. You may remember that the fuse box nearly caught fire just before I left. The electricians came while I was away and changed it and did a lot of rewiring but there are still some sockets and lights that don't work properly. They wanted to wait until I came back as it will exceed their estimate. There are still some extension leads from the utility room which had a newer fuse box so OH is putting it back how it was.

Thank you @floralies, feels like a very heavy cold with headache and fever. I slept much better, woke once wet with sweat and changed my nightie.
The dining room is dry now, no new puddle and it has been raining so I hope the roof is OK. I'll have to get it checked.
The poor battered garden, covered in leaves.
Oh dear, ned to go to laptop.
I've turned it around for you @Busy-Lizzie
