Hello everyone , another fine day here.  Ive moved everything off the front veranda.  We have arranged for a builder to glass it in so we can sit in the morning sun but out of the breeze which is really brisk at this time of the year. Don’t know when they’ll come,  at least its been cleared ready for them. It will also mean that Pixel can be out it there without me worrying about snakes in summer.  I’m really looking forward to it.

    Good morning all 😊 ☕️
it’s a bright morning here too @Pat E … with a light breeze. What a good idea … turning the verandah into a sort of conservatory 😊 you might find it warms the house in winter too. 😃
A slower start this morning as OH isn’t heading in to work until 9:30.
After watering I’ll be making a lasagne for supper before some time painting and then tennis and knitting.
Hopefully @Busy-Lizzie is on the mend and @punkdoc and Moira have a good journey up to their holiday destination today 😎

Sounds like a brilliant idea to glass in your verandah @Pat E.
Enjoy your sojourn in Scotland @punkdoc.
I bought some gaura to fill in a gap too @D0rdogne_Damsel and am so glad I did - they are looking lovely.
Hope your lovely electrician can get you sorted @Busy-Lizzie - as Dove says, it's lucky it's summer!
Bit breezy here today.  No gardening again for me as I have paperwork to do.  I'm involved in too much stuff - but when all the events/projects come off it is immensely satisfying.  I've also realising that if someone tells me I can't do a thing - I just have to do that thing to prove that I can do it!  No-one ever tells me I really shouldn't take on tackling the ironing pile though...

Yes Didy we haven’t received the quote yet, but we’ve used this builder before, so fingers crossed it is within our budget. 🤞

Hi everyone,  didn't get to sorting out the dripper system yesterday so did it this morning.  After a couple of false starts and the inevitable leaky bits it's all done now. Just have to remember to set the timer before we go!

@Pat E my wife had an uncle living in southern France, his verandah was a real sun trap except when the mistral was blowing. He put glass in on one side, where the wind came from , it made the world of difference.

    Evening all.

What a mixed weather day! Thunder, rainbows, the works!

Spent all day emptying and clearing pond to find the leaking point… frogs and newts all rescued into a mini pond and we found two fish! We thought all our fish (grass carp) has succumbed last year. Cue impromptu fish tank and then the clearing work could start… hole found, patched, pumps cleaned and water lilies divided too. Filled back up with treated tap water and plenty of rain water. Job done. I hope. I wouldn’t normally advocate disturbing a pond but think we did the best we could.

    Have a lovely weekend all.

Hi everyone.  Another similar day beginning, but predictions are for snow lower down than usual.😳. Time will tell. We are at 1200m.

    Good morning all 😊 ☕️
it’s a gorgeous morning here … blue sky and sunshine and 12C at the moment … heading for the comfortable low 20s later on. Hope it doesn’t get too chilly down your way @Pat E 😊
