Hi folks, Cloudy and clammy here today. Have hung out the washing but no idea if it will dry before I have to go to Secondborns. I'm on Nanna duty until late tonight as she is going to a leaving do for one of the teachers. So many of them are leaving as they are just fed up of all the stress and unmanageable workload. Have just been out into the garden and the roses are looking very tatty, never had a major problem with blackspot but this year it's awful. Sorry to see the state of your garden BL. Hopefully you will feel well enough soon to tackle it. Enjoy the break @punkdoc and hopefully the weather will not be too bad. Congrats @Hostafan1
I thought I'd try out the heating this morning as the electrician has replaced the fuse box. This cottage has electric heating (which is cheaper in France than in the UK). Disaster! It isn't working, no working radiators in the sitting room or the upstairs. Dining room is OK as is on a different fuse box, being a later extension. The electrician mentioned that he'd found some ancient 3 phase wiring which he'd removed as it was obsolete. I bet that was the feed to the radiators.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
All ok here, some very heavy rain and hail, but survived. Thanks for the concern.
Busy, busy. Had to fire someone today, hateful task, but for the greater good...
Bought a new work car, very nice, probably better than my personal car, but more suited for cash and carry runs and trips to the tip, has a tow hook for the trailer so can take garden rubbish.
Spent a fortune on plants over the last few days, roses, gauras, antirrhinum and sages. Needed to fill some gaps. Hydrangeas are looking good, despite the storms.
Must sleep, hugs to all.
