  • @Fritillary those were simply cut in half, sprinkled with good olive oil and put in a moderate oven for two hours. They’re in the fridge at the moment but tomorrow I plan to pulverize them in the processer and then freeze them in batches to add to soups, ragu for spag bol etc.

  • I have LOTS of soup made thankyou @Allotment Boy 😁 you had better get prepping 😉
  • Trouble is so do we, not sure there is any space in the freezer.

  • I have kept the neighbours in cucumbers and tomatoes again this year. Why do we grow so much.😆
  • I'm not growing those little cherry tomatoes another year ... there's just too many of them .........

  • I do like to have one cherry tom @Dovefromabove as they ripen two/three weeks before salad varieties,  so the hubby has some for his pack up.😁
  • @Dovefromabove thank you  for the info on the tomatoes. I will have a go with your method. I usually just chop mine up, bag them and then freeze.
  • @Fritillary have you now used your squash and what did you do?
  • This year's harvest of butternut squash minus the 2 biggest that were stolen plus a large Crown Prince! I wouldn't have picked them this early out of choice but don't want to risk losing anymore so will ripen them off at home.
