I started with one bush. As the apple next to it has grown it gets a lot of shade and they will be ready next week. Cuttings stuck in the veg patch made two new bushes. I used to make jam but as we are trying to cut down sugar I just add them to porridge or mix with apple to make compote. I need to do a bit of pruning this year but they are so simple to grow.
I have started picking the runner beans; hopefully many meals in the next 2 months will have runner beans as the side dish. Will be freezing the surplus.
Oxford. The City of Dreaming Spires.
And then my heart with pleasure fills,
And dances with the daffodils (roses). Taking a bit of liberty with Wordsworth
A bit late to the party but it's starting to come good now. Picolino dwarf cucumbers & Maskotka tomatoes. The first time I've grown the latter and I'm well-impressed. Plenty of chillies formed but yet to ripen.
Clay soil - Cheshire/Derbyshire border. I play with plants and soil and sometimes it's successful
A nice selection this morning, it's been a good year for soft fruit, the currants are coming to an end but the blueberries are just starting 😋. First half a dozen French beans aswell.
