I’m trying Beth Alpha as well,   They’re almost ready to plant out in the GH but I’m still picking the greens,  think I’m going to have to pick them now and cut the losses.
I've also got 2 Ridge to go in the garden.

Can't believe how much you lot have got already. My strawbs are miles behind. Think I might start to get some blueberries in a month or so, but nothing anywhere near before then.

  • A small thing, but mine own - garden to cheese butty in less than 60 seconds. I'm thrilled! (sadly not the toms yet, just the salad, but hey)

It the joy of knowing everything that went into growing that salad, plus home grown always taste better @Heartinthedirt 😁
  • Courgette take up alot of room @Heartinthedirt so if you are planning to grow them horizontal then they will need up to three feet, depending on what variety you have. Also they tend to suffer from mould if too wet, which could damage your cucumbers,  I personally would keep them apart.
As for the tubs they are 45×45×45cm bedding tubs, one cucumber per tub. They can be outside, but will need strong support a wall or fence is best with netting to weave them through ( mine is clematis netting) large enough holes but strong enough to take the weight. They will grow up to six/eight foot depending what variety they are. Hope this helps, and come back with any other questions. 😁
Thanks @purplerallim. I'm trying Burless Tasty, because the name amuses me and because I believe they're OK for outdoors. Great advice and very much appreciated 😊

Had to pull out the last of the Spring Greens to make room for tomatoes,  we’ve been picking this since February  and I’ve got plenty in the freezer, should last until next season.

I got my first strawberry today, I enjoyed it, but with 2000 plants I won't enjoy picking the rest quite as much.
Annoyingly it was a Sonata which is meant to be a middle early. but it's beating the earlies again.

I have 3 varieties that are meant to give a long succession,  the last few years they have all come at once.

Picked these before the birds take them.

Well done @Eustace with the cherries. Do you get them to ripen indoors?
We have the same problem with the birds taking them when they are still green.
