Dead easy @Eustace  … I direct sow in the spring under a plastic mini tunnel cloche and thin out to about 9 inches apart.  I remove the tunnel when the weather picks up and they’re growing strongly.

I’ll put the protection back for the worst of the winter and get an occasional picking in the milder spells. Love it.

Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.

Nice and plump tomatoes and beetroot @purplerallim 😀
Last of the loganberries, a few blueberries, cucumber, a misshapen🫑 and a few beans.

Oxford. The City of Dreaming Spires.
And then my heart with pleasure fills,
And dances with the daffodils (roses). Taking a bit of liberty with Wordsworth :)

The soft fruit haul for this morning. The local blackbird population won't be happy ;)

At least this hot dry weather has been good for drying out my shallots.
  • I've only just started to get my first few ripe tomatoes and the leaves look like this. Is this normal?

They have been stressed by the weather @livvies mum but it will cause no harm to the plant or fruit.
