It's beyond frustrating, @punkdoc, but probably your only option. And having come to that decision, you have to let it go now. Don't stay angry about it. Easier said than done, I do realise, but it's important to try.

So lovely that you're getting good times to remember, @Hostafan1. ((hugs))

Our rain barrels are all full again - we had a day of steady rain on Sunday and a few hours of quite heavy rain this afternoon. Someone else can have a turn now, I could do with a bit of warmth - I'm still sitting here in my thermals and fingerless gloves. We lit the fire on Sunday evening.

A busy short week, this week, so apologies if I'm a bit awol - hope everyone is doing OK and Pat doesn't get snowed in

That's encouraging about the rain, @raisingirl, I'm hoping we might get it later then.
Most of my water butts are empty.

    Treasure the 'happy' times @Hostafan1.

A wise decision @punkdoc. My sis and I had a similar situation when her ex boyfriend sued her for £15k - she lost because we couldn't then afford the £1000 for a solicitor to defend the action. She lost her house and it was an awful time. It wasn't the first time he'd done that either.

    Evening.

Dare I believe the weather forecast of 20 degrees next week?? I’m in the zone of trying not to have the heating on, but that means double jumper/dressing gown in the evenings, so it will be very welcome to have some warmth. My courgettes might even germinate (my mistake for putting them in a cold room, but I ran out of sunny windowsills).

Disappointing that the case will have to drop Punk, but at least he’s gone.

Tired after teaching all day so feet up now and having some mini eggs I found in the cupboard when I was putting the shopping away.

    Take care all.

    Thanks.

Some really sound advice, I must act on it.

I totally understand your decision @punkdoc, we will know in a couple of weeks if we made the right decision. If we made the wrong one then we will have to live with the verdict and move on and somehow try and recoup our losses.

Morning Forkers. The predicted snow hasn’t arrived yet, but my toes might need thicker socks if things don’t warm up soon. 🙄. Glad to read your news Hosta, but sorry Punkdoc is still struggling with his ex-neighbour.

We are up a bit earlier than usual because an electrician is expected to check on a couple of ceiling lights flickering when we turn them on.  I’m worried about a possible fire in the roof space, because we don’t know what is setting them off. Could be a mouse or something nibbling. 🤭

    Good morning all 😊 ☕️
good idea to get the wiring checked @Pat E 😮 better safe than sorry.

Well the saga of the locksmith rolls on … we had several more apologetic phone calls yesterday … he was on the way several times but each time he had an emergency plea for help come in and he had to dash off to rescue folk and let them back into (or even out of) their homes … rang again 4:30 saying he could be with us about 6pm or we could be first on the list this morning … so he’s due here before 10 am this morning … we don’t really mind cos the house is secure, the lock’s been replaced … all he has to do is replace the temporary handles with the ones that match the frame.

I’m glad you’re putting the troublesome ex ndn behind you @punkdoc. Now that he’s gone it would be such a shame for the unpleasant feelings he generated to continue to affect your enjoyment of your lovely home and garden. ((Hug))

It may be helpful to recognise that you have won … you have vindication … you have evidence in writing from an expert of what he did. You don’t have reparation, that’s true … but that was never likely to happen … just as we didn’t get reparation from the customer who didn’t pay us even tho we won the court case.  If you continue to chase him he’ll gain satisfaction from knowing that he’s still annoying you … don’t feed his need … and that way you win 😊 👍

    Hi all

We have rain and it is bloody freezing.

Thanks @Dovefromabove, wise words, as always, I will really try to put it behind me, but that has always been my problem, I hang onto things, oh and I bear grudges

Morning everyone,  we are starting for home, on a coach, then to Eurostar from Brussels.  Its going to be a long day.   Punkdoc do you know if your ex bdn was in business,  if he is that dodgy,  an anonymous tip off to the VAT man might be good.  Just saying 🤫.
