I have lots of Phlox and they're all well up now.. I do like these with the purple tips.. I don't do 'chopping'.. Phlox panic. 'Amethyst'.. Geranium sang. 'Matt Frei'.. ..this spreading ground cover is a Petrorhagia, which flowers like a Gypsophila. Very long season.. should start soon by the looks of it..
Hakonechloa 'Aureola'.. frothy mass of Pulmonaria 'Opal'.. French Lavender 'Anouk'.. in garden centres at the moment.. Helianthemum 'Fire Dragon'.. Rhodanthemum 'Marrakech'.. Iberis 'Snow Mound'[?]. Delphinium aurora 'Deep Purple'.. Berberis 'Bagatelle'..
.. @Fire lol..no, .. it's just the way they look at the moment - but I do like rounded balls of foliage.. chopping or clipping would ruin that look for now..
My heucheras in a relatively shady area (gets some sunshine in the morning) are doing well and flowering:
Alliums have flowered too, though I planted a pack of 8 bought from Asda, only 4 (the 3 short ones plus a tall one that is about to flower) have turned up. Others died back with yellow leaves before producing flower stems.
Erysimum Constant Cheer is doing well too. So pleased with the colours. Will definitely get more wallflowers for the bed. The Salvia nemerosa next to it is showing a lot of life (and some buds) now, but another Salvia planted in the same area (salvatore blue) seems to have died, despite producing an abundance of beautiful flowers last year.
Two sea thrifts in the sunny front garden are flowering too. One is Armeria maritima "Rubrifolia" and the other is Armeria pseudarmeria Ballerina Lilac. I was expecting them to have different flower colours but apparently not! Now I'm a bit worried that I have too much pink in my front garden....
@msqingxiao ..thank you for showing us your garden... I love the Erysimum colour, just what I like.. and the Armerias are lovely too, I have a couple... gorgeous colour on a Heuchera - I don't have any of those for some reason..
Here with Rozanne and a blue spring anemone (gifted. Covered in buds). I've never been into or interested much in planting combinations (all a bit lost on me, to date), but I love here the dark blue, lilac and blue/purple mix. (not the best picture). The anemone is such an unusual and striking blue; The blooms look like they are made of paper.
