I'm not sure to be honest, perhaps someone else has a better idea, but here's one of mine which is not so advanced as yours, it has a succulent look, glandular hairs.. I should know because I've been trying to get rid of these for years, wish I never planted it.. it seeds all over my driveway now..
Hmmm, no hairs on mine, maybe they’re poppies then. I’ll let them grow and see.
Wow! @Marlorena, that's a huge geranium. How is it supported? What dimensions were given on the label, do you know? It looks beautiful but wouldn't withstand a wet breezy day here! My geranium 'Nimbus' is growing fast again, I think it will have to go. I never would have chosen a plant with a 7ft spread for the spot it's in. I wish there were compact blue geraniums.
Wow @Marlorena that Geranium is amazing! I didn’t know there were such huge geraniums, I thought they only came small size, lol I fell in love with you dry border, also!
i decided I need some geranium here too, could you all please give me some advice! I’d like them to have a very long flowering season and I also need some to put around the roses, so they need to be not too much invasive. Thank you . I have a Hibiscu Syriacus here, it’s very hardy and tolerate well the heat too. A very floriferous plant which don’t take much space, nor time, to grow. It blooms from July to October. Here’s a photo of last year, since this year it’s not blooming yet
@Woodgreen @dabolem ..thanks so much.. yes it's supported with a round metal ring, which was actually the lower part of a metal obelisk which I dismantled as it was too large.. so it grows up through that, however it is fairly self supporting but it demands a lot of water as the leaves are so large.. it was sold to me as Geranium 'Johnson's Blue' which of course it isn't, as I've had that and it's only about 2 feet tall and quite different.. I can only think it's Geranium pratense the meadow cranesbill but it even surpasses that for size I think.. so I'm a bit stumped..
The bees totally love it, and they swarm all over it.. flowers summer only, June/July..
If you want a compact, long flowering blue Geranium that does not invade like Rozanne then I recommend the very beautiful Geranium wallichianum 'Buxton's Blue', which is probably a Rozanne parent but nothing like as aggressive.. There are others, I think 'Azure Rush' is supposed to be more compact but I don't have it.
I'm also getting rid of 'Nimbus' I can't have another huge one.. pity as it's rather pretty..
Lovely photos @Marlorena, that Alonsoa ‘Salmon Beauty’ looks fantastic.
I don’t get so many lavender seedlings, maybe because there’s not much available space for them to grow beside the pavement.
Here is creeping thyme ‘Caborn Wine & Roses’ — very easy no-care ground cover which I have dotted around outside my door. The scent is really strong right now.
Thank you @Marlorena I’ll try those geraniums and will let you know next year
@Athelas beautiful creeping thyme, I tried one some time ago but here it dessicated all the under part, I don’t know why. I may try again with the Carbon &Wine. is yours growing on the pavement too?
