    ..I prefer simple Poppies although I've never grown the Welsh type..

    Welsh poppies grow all over the place here, and occasionally orange ones appear. Tough as old boots, taproots like carrots, so no problem overwintering. Too many to dead head but I do my best!

    I have just one. I imagine they tried to self seed but the slugs ate them.

    Many years ago we visited an NGS garden where bluebells grew with orange Welsh poppies.....I've never forgotten it.
    I tried to replicate the colours with blue aquilegia and orange Welsh poppies, but never quite achieved it. I will try again though.

    Think this will post sideways sorry. I love this Polygonatum Betburg. It has been in my garden for three years and I have only had one flower very slow to bulk up.
    I have worked as a Gardener for 24 years. My latest garden is a new build garden on heavy clay.
