Morning everyone. A thick frost this morning, but the sun is shining and the sky is blue.
@janetfoss I haven't pruned any of my hydrangeas yet, always wait till the frosts have finished.......although I do usually  do them beginning of April. But I'm going to wait for a week or two.
@Chivetalking glad your mum is keeping well.
@Rubee I did sleep well thank you.  Hope the carpets are drying, great news you can claim for replacements. Hope the washing machine is fixed too.
@debs64 glad you enjoyed time in the garden. Hope Graham gets time in the garden soon.
@Ladybird4 have a lovely family visit. Hope handy brother is enjoying his new home.
@Ante30 glad the rain has stopped. Have a relaxing Sunday.
@bluebellsintherain keep warm and have a lazy day snuggled on the sofa.
    Have a good day everyone

Morning all. Still lousy with a cold but it’s nothing and I shouldn’t moan when you see what is going on in the world. Nothing really planned for today so I can dose myself up and relax.  Everyone sounds busy hope you enjoy whatever you are doing.

Graham is hoping next weeks warmer temperatures materialise he doesn’t mind the rain so a few showers are fine but he needs double figures really. I popped him out yesterday as the sun was warm but he promptly dug himself into his straw bed and wasn’t impressed. He is currently grumping around in the dining room and still refusing to eat. I suppose the truth is that tortoises are not really suited to our weather and spring is always a difficult season.
Trevor was a much much older tortoise more accustomed to British weather he never hibernated fully and would eat whatever the temperatures. Graham will adapt no doubt.

    Morning all.

Cold. Big frost, my poor blossom, -4° earlier, now +4°.

No plans for today, too cold outside, unless it warms up. Maybe I could hem the last pair of curtains in the sitting room.

Morning all - home again now.

Spent Friday night in the camper at Hawes in the Dales. Camp site is on the edge of town where we had a lovely meal in a local pub. It was bitterly cold and one of us must have accidentally knocked the heater switch to off so the internal van temp was down to 4C by morning. That's an ok temp for storing perishables according to my fridge thermometer....  At 1am I was so cold I put most of my clothes back on and slept in those. Not an experience I'm keen to repeat!

Long drive home yesterday but did a SM shop on the way and the van is unpacked and 2 washes done. Today I'll be tidying stuff away and probably not much else. 2 DA roses were waiting for me in the log store (Vanessa Bell and Roald Dahl) so I'll try to get those in the ground this week - but not today - I need a rest!

Ante - good to hear poor old Max is coping with his injury. He sounds like a lovely dog.

Yvie - Hugs for you - sounds like things have been a tad rough again.

@Rubee - your problems keep piling up too don't they? It might be worth looking at local hire shops to see if you can rent a dehumidifier or carpet cleaner (per BL's suggestion) to help with drying out the carpet. Some of them round here will deliver or perhaps a kind friend or neighbour could collect for you?

My insurance company has an emergency help line for domestic emergencies like this. If yours has too they might be able to put you in touch with a company to help - even on a Sunday. IME an insurance company would prefer to help you find a quick way to dry the carpet (maybe even pay for the equipment) than pay for a new carpet because the old one has shrunk or gone a bit mouldy - especially if it's a carpet that runs through the hall, up the stairs, over the upstairs landing etc etc...
Heaven is ... sitting in the garden with a G&T and a cat while watching the sun go down

Glad you're home safe and sound @Topbird, if a little 'chilled' .... Hawes area is lovely.  :)

Afternoon everyone, had a lovely cooked breakfast (no washing up 🙌) and came home to work it off in the garden, just having a nice cuppa tea now,
SGL Glad you slept well, hope you enjoy some time outdoors today 😊
I enjoy listening to the radio Dove, that sounds like a nice start to your day particularly on a chilly morning,
Rubee That’s a good idea to check your policy, hopefully they can assist with all that you need,
Yvie Colds can make you feel miserable, stay warm look after yourself,
Debs Your garden sounds well organised after the clearing you’ve done and the little Robin enjoyed it too,
Busy A chilly day for you, curtain hemming will be a good indoor pursuit,
Topbird Good to hear you are safely back home after a nice break away. Lovely to find your roses delivered and waiting for you on your return.
I had a promotional email from Dun**m yesterday tempting me to “Enjoy 5% off when you spend £50 with a code, use by: 31-03-22” what a tease!
Enjoy the rest of your day everyone.
