Not one of the most enjoyable Blackpool's for me. The whole music thing seemed wrong, especially the Paso. Kym looked magnificent, let down by the music. Some of the costumes were dubious, the dress Gorkas partner wore, looked like bits of left over material. I know who I'd like to see go......🤫
The whole truth is an instrument that can only be played by an expert.
I too found it underwhelming - poor music choices, too much faffing on intros before the dancing, huge props to reduce the size of the dance floor and so on.
I thought the majority of the choreographies failed to take advantage of that wonderful expanse of sprung dance floor. Johannes' was a particular disappointment given his previous inventiveness and flair.
Not a great show.
Vendée - 20kms from Atlantic coast.
"The price good men (and women) pay for indifference to public affairs is to be ruled by evil men (and women)."
I think all the hype led to great expectations, especially as it was the first show at Blackpool for three years.
I just knew Fleur was going to get full marks, can anyone explain why to me ? I read elsewhere that someone considered it a "Music video" style. Strike a pose, pause, move, strike another pose. (Michelle Visage anyone ?). She clearly enjoyed it, but l don't see how you can judge it against Ballroom and Latin. I suppose it's "Couple's Choice" so basically they have free rein and as long as they don't fall over or clearly forget the steps, it's down to the judge's interpretation.
I found the backing dancers in Helen and Gorka's quickstep a particular distraction, there's not much better than a couple in full quickstep "gallop" around the Tower Ballroom.
Unless it's a man in a tail suit and a lady with feathers on her dress l know Hamza may not have been technically perfect (l'm sure the toes were heading in a pigeon direction once or twice), but the joy of watching him, his lovely smile and his friendship with Jowita is what it's all about for me.
I agree with you @Obelixx, l don't know what happened with Johannes and Ellie T. There was so much "faffing abaht" , not much in hold, and the business of her being hoisted aloft (with a dreadful black safety belt, where was the sparkle ?) brought Ann Widdecombe strongly to mind. I'm convinced that something went wrong and they had to improvise. I heard her say "l'm so sorry" to him at the end.
Why the sour face from Craig before giving a 10 he is becoming a caricature of himself he is the Duh! to Motsis Wah! I thought that the camera work was bad again but as the crew were on the road it was forgivable I suppose. I fear Ellie and Tyler in the bottom two Ellie seems to have lost heart for me whereas Tyler's full of enthusiasm oh well! someone has to go I suppose.
That would be my choice too @barry island I can't believe how underwhelming the whole thing was. Couples choice is a bad choice for me. How can the judges judge something so random? What was that underneath Molly's dress? It looked like a skimpy petticoat, not enough material, the costumes have definitely been cut back.

I loved Fleur's dance! Not at all surprised she got 4 tens. But what on earth happened to Ellie and Johannes? Why did we have to see her strapping herself in to be hoiked up in the air for no purpose whatsoever. I do like her and I love Johannes but she does look a bit like a gawky schoolgirl a lot of the time. And poor Kym got completely the wrong music. Most of the time the extra dancers just look in the way to me.
Fleur looked as if she meant business to me but I couldn't say whether she was just dancing a routine that Beyonce had made famous or not, either way the judges being "showbusiness luvvies" wouldn't dare say anything against a Beyonce-esque routine.

How the girls dance in high heels beats me. I never could walk in them.
