    @murasaki How lovely, Romania. I went there a couple of times in my 20s and the beauty of the countryside left a lasting impression. I bet it is a good place for rose-growing.

    Also nice to see the hybrid musk love. Does anyone have Prosperity? It looks beautiful on the Trevor White website (where it says it was introduced in 1919, same as Peter Beales, while DA says 1879. Did DA make a mistake, or did someone crib the wrong answer from someone else? ;) ).

    Colonel Mustard is a fab rose name, Jessica

    ..DA got it wrong I'm afraid,.. no idea where they got that year from..

    @murasaki
    .. GdeF is changeable for colours, depending on temps.  If you look at your rose late evenings, it can turn pink, or even during the day in cool overcast conditions.. it seems to be doing well for you..

    ..lovely roses and garden views everyone, so many to choose from today..

    I can't wait for my Ghislaine to get going. It's small at the mo, but doing fine, considering the stupid spot.

    Has anyone noticed the difference in scent description between the different sellers? I was looking at climbers for the front of the house, long john silver caught my eye, peter beales describes it as very fragrant, david austin says light?!
