Morning everyone ! lovely Mary Delany . GdF is also coming into full flush here , while Guirlande is already winding down . I will start probably with the second feeding rounds next week…Â
here the sun and the increasing heat , influence of the Catalan weather , is crisping up  Charles Emp.the red ones are Folle Framboise what really struggles with too much sun. Needs replanting because even with normal temperatures it crisps up.Â
Robe Fleurie is loved by the pollinators and is throwing out massive canes at the moment
..I prefer GdeF it's a marvellous rambler with interesting colours..
@Imprevu .. which country are you in please, if you don't mind me asking? I thought Belgium but maybe I'm wrong..
@Oliya ..yes that looks like 'BMS'.. I wonder how many times it's occurred though, 2 people on this thread alone.. personally I wouldn't wait for Elizabeth bare root, but ask them to send me a replacement potted rose of my choice from what else is available..
@cooldoc .. I regard Julia Child as having anise scent, I think it's a milder form of myrrh. I can't recall exactly what Artemis was like, I thought similar, but maybe more like the Austins.. I remember thinking it wasn't only DA's that produced it..
Leaves, stems, and buds looked the same @cooldoc, it wasn't until the flowers opened that the difference appeared. I would say Blue Moon has a light old rose fragrance, say lighter than Celebration, but Twice in a Blue Moon is something I have never smelt before. Is it because I tend to go for HT type roses?🤔 So have never come across other types of roses smells.🤔
@Marlorena It is indeed Belgium , but we are now influenced by the weather in Spain . So they predict 34 and more this week. Will not stay long … and that spot is almost sun non stop..
read morning sun , a small break at noon and then going back with full afternoon sun until she goes under the trees .
thanks @Marlorena even I felt the same comparing Scepter'd Isle's and Strawberry hill's fragrance to Julia Child's.. Austins are much stronger and refined of sorts.. Lovely Perfuma aka Summer Romance aka Rosengrafin Marie-Henriette has a strong smell (compared to JC) but something which is more medicinal like.. Do you prefer that over Austin Myrrh or do they smell the same to you?
Can you please post the pics of BMS as well.. the stems and other bits which you had posted earlier.. just for comparision.. I could not find your earlier post
GdeF looks fab "Mr. Vine Eye"
@purplerallim which repeats/ flowers better among the two?
@Imprevu love that Robe Fleurie.. similar to Lyda rose but that heart shaped petals with a pink outline looks good...
missing the scented flowers on my Eustacia vye @Eustace I had chopped most of them down and had to resort to spraying to get an upper hand.. hopefully the new buds will come good...
