@andrewnewton I grow Blush Noisette against a pillar. Yes, IMHO it will make a nice obelisk rose as the stems are quite flexible. Deadheading is needed for repeat flowering - it is quite easy; just shake the plant.
Yes @cooldoc lots of roses to find homes for in my garden.😆 I am thinking of planting in tubs for a year and then making a rose bed in the front garden. Problem is it was going to be for the red Ruby weddings ( we have three) , now we have three Twice in a Blue Moon too, so does that mean two beds? 🤔😆 Hubby is sat here shaking his head. 😆
..those pics are Roald Dahl, not BMS, not enough thorns.. BMS has quite a lot, more on some stems than others.. nice colour to them.. ..on some canes there are also tiny little red prickles in between the big ones..
..it's a strange thing but the same rose growing in other gardens can often look like another rose.. this is the problem with i.d'ing roses. Even a rose I have here can look different in another garden, different cameras and lighting, so it's easy to make a mistake.  Those with the wrong rose just need to give it a bit of time but I suspect you have BMS in place of Elizabeth even if they don't look quite like mine at the moment..
@andrewnewton .. my answer to your 2 questions on Blush Noisette would be.. possibly and yes... the rose is flexible enough to grow it many different ways, but on an obelisk would not be my first choice personally, ultimately it's quite wide spreading and thorny too.. I'd be forever cutting it back.. although I do know of it growing up an arch.. ..the vice is that the spent flowers do not drop and go brown, some buds also ball in the wet. To be honest, you know it's 200 years old, and I just think there are many more roses more suitable for an obelisk than this one.  It is virtually disease free though, that's the last thing to worry about..

Lovely old roses.. they do have a certain charm (and scent) to them..
@Omori love those colours on Just Joey and Aphrodite.. remember Just Joey being a bit more orangey in pics...
