Roses have to make your heart sing and feed your soul, I think Marlorena. If they don’t, there are plenty out there that will! I don’t really know what it is either about GB, that’s a fairly accurate colour rendering there for me.
Mountainous Northern Catalunya, Spain. Hot summers, cold winters.
@Eustace ..my apologies, it's you that has 'Royal Celebration' not zugenie.. I often get mixed up these days. ..it looks a winner anyway, as do so many others here. I'm pleased I've run out of room..
..interesting fasciation or proliferation as we tend to call it. Sometimes it produces another flower.  Some like it and others do not. You have some fine H.T's..Â
we had thunderstorm lightening etc but not sure how much rain actually happened. I dont have as many in bloom yet but I had cut all the roses from garden yesterday evening and setup a big vaseful for kitchen and couple of posies for other rooms. I love bringing roses indoors. I can touch and feel and bury my nose. I am a little bit disappointed too as I cant smell like pre-covid.
A couple of roses for the patio area to encourage me to build the patio already.
If anyone is contemplating a potted rose order from Trevor White, they arrive lush, green, blemish-free and full of buds.
ETA: Marlorena's kindness and generosity with her vast knowledge really are something else. If you ever set up an online course for budding rosarians, Marlorena, it would be a sell-out!
Thanks @Marlorena. It was you who got me started on the roses and I'm so very thankful for that inspiration. I keep looking at your photos again and again.
@newbie77 yes, I do love a vase of roses on my desk. I started with HT roses which were pleasing to the eye and have now added other varieties introduced/shared by the esteemed members of this forum.
Oxford. The City of Dreaming Spires.
And then my heart with pleasure fills,
And dances with the daffodils (roses). Taking a bit of liberty with Wordsworth
I’ve just noticed my Excellenz von Schubert is producing a white bloom in a cluster of the normal pink ones. One of it’s parents is Frau Karl Druschki, a white hybrid perpetual so I assume a reversion. Do I nip it out or will that make no difference?

Finally my first bloom, and it’s a 2 for 1! ‘For your eyes only’ brought this one with me from the old house so makes sense that it’s the first to bloom
I think the ferdinand pichard cutting will be nexr
