Loads of buds everywhere now. I bought a Geranium Johnson's Blue from Wilko, one of those bagged bareroot plants.Â
Handily split into four pieces when I took it out of the bag, so instant 4 for the price of 1! Potted them individually and the poor little white shoots are starting to get some colour in.
Lovely weather. Pushing everything on.Â
Going to have an afternoon at the plot as it feels like I've been digging the same bed for months, I really want to have one last push and get it finished!
Also going to take the rose food and feed, mulch Kew Gardens and Arthur Bell.
Considering it's the only one of my roses with buds on at the moment, I'm thinking it's pretty much odds on my Gruss an Aachen will be the first to flower for me. It positively exploded into bud after putting it in the ground a week or so ago.
I wanted to say how much I appreciate the Rose Crowd - you are so supportive of each other, kind and encouraging - a great gang - without thorns, prickles or poisonous spines. I have learnt a lot from you all and it's good fun sharing your trials, tribulations and successes. A kind, courteous and curious crew can be a rare thing on social media platforms - so take a moment to bask in some thanks from me. x
What a lovely day, 3 roses were planted in the new rose bed. I almost begrudge having to host family tomorrow, I want to crack on outside now. But it will be a welcome break from the norm, so I'll show everyone the garden instead. I'll have to fit some watering in, the soil is very dry to the depth of newly planted perennials and no rain in prospect. Seems a bit early to be worrying about water butt levels but the smallest is empty/
Happy Easter and all the other festivities that are occuring concurrently this year.

True. This thread is my favourite. I have learned so much and enjoyed reading and looking at photos.Â
