Beautiful roses everyone, and lovely video @pitter-patter. Nothing to compete with that here , so I've put chandos beauty , blush noisette, ab fab , and some lavender stoechas in a collage . ( Photos taken yesterday, correctly predicting rain i snaffled the two large CB blooms ( i prefer them a bit smaller to be honest)to bring indoors before it started raining.Â
The new rosebed is a bit of a disaster. Little did we know that clearing this bit of border would unleash the Horse's Tail, come in from the neighbour. So 4 roses have been dug up and potted. Will put down membrane and bark for this season.
Some may remember I had seedlings (Carminia hip) last season. The 2 are both healthy little plants but the one that had a pale pink bloom last season is looking like this, I should wait a day to show you but too excitedJust had email from Peter Beale alerting 20% off with code CHE20 to 29th May because it is Chelsea week.
Great response also to my The Anniversary Rose complaint with either a potted one now and I pay the difference or FOC Bare Root in the autumn.
Just caught up on 150-odd posts, great fun, thanks for sharing your pics and posts everyone
Special mentions to @Omori's beaming Wild Edric, @Tack and @Lizzie27's Eglantynes, a rose I've never really thought about before but is quite exquisite and @Nollie's Stormy Weather, again, I've never noticed the ruffled petal shape before, but very nice!
Very enjoyable video from @pitter-patter too, thoughtful and elegant planting.
I've got a handful of rose flowers but garden is by no means rosy as yet. (I won't be entering the DA competition ) so a rose companion shot from me. Obvious roses here are Gallica officinalis and Rhapsody in Blue on a diagonal of the central alliums.
Sneak preview of Pergolese, one of my 'most looking forward to' collection to answer @newbie77's q from a few pages back.
I've got a few combos I'm looking forward to also, Autumn Delight and Nuits de Young, a tricolour of Port Sunlight, Cardinal de Richelieu and Dame Judi Dench and an old combo that has never actually combined as I was hoping, Alba Maxima and Tuscany.
@Victoria Sponge your garden is to die for, so beautiful! Do you have a little bridge?
@Mr. Vine Eye Adjusted the wires today, was reminded that my friend also bought some of the concrete post brackets after seeing mine, more commission owed to you
Mary Delany is not quite long enough to tie in yet, but hopefully with the week of sun and rain we have forecast she’ll be ready next week!
.. more lovely gardens, all so lush, beautiful roses galore..
..and Tack's seedling looks like one we're going to admire..
Nollie's GdeF is going to be epic..
O/T We had to get rid of my husband's bike the other day. Bulky Waste took it off us, I had to pay £30. Only the man who came decided he wanted the bike for himself [it was in good condition].. So effectively, we paid £30 for the privilege of giving it away to somebody.. oh well, we were never cut out for business..
..but, he didn't get the basket.. I think this would make a good pond planter for a Waterlily or somesuch, or bulbs.  I could even get a rose in it I reckon, not that I'm going to try.

I chop her down but she still grows well over 6 foot.Â
