    Hi all, I’ve just bought my first couple of David Austin Roses.

    First, I got Strawberry Hill to grow in a pot with an Obelisk. So any advice on that would be gratefully received.

    Secondly, I was torn between Olivia Rose Austin and Gertrude Jekyll to grow as a shrub, I chose GJ, but almost regret it already! I probably would have been the same had I gone the other way round! Again any advice would be great.

    Such lovely plants. You can always get Olivia next time, Ciaran.😉

    I am receiving 3 x Gertrude Jekylls... and I have now planted something else where they were going to go. So... would you:

    - plant them in a row in a mini hedge by the seating area
    - plant them in a triangle
    - grow two up eithet side of an old disused arch I have lying around and put the other by itself somewhere?

    I'd plant in a triangle for mass impact @WhereAreMySecateurs
    Just another day at the plant...

    Not to worry @Littlegarden, I've still some of last year's weeding to do!
  • @Littlegarden that Camelia looks like a Camelia Dr King that I have.

    @Tack
    ..that's ready to replant or repot, it's not been recently potted from a bare root, it's quite established.  Nice thick root coming off it..

    Do you think this will be suitable as a first feed for my roses. It's soluble, but it was the only feed I could find were the nitrogen content was higher (I think) than the other two nutrients. The contents label was a bit confusing to say the least.
