Ive got lady hillingdon new this year too. Looking forward to new munstead wood, new hulthemias (megan standard and climbing orienta aladin) and the rest of the new ones. Munstead has fat buds! Looking forward to everything! Especially existing lady of shallott, sweet syrie, copper lights, all budding away.
The old roses feel new because they're all larger, different shapes or covering areas that they didn't before and the planting around them has evolved.
@Imprevu - my Ghislaine isn't flowering yet but is looking like it's soon ready to burst into life. Lots of buds.
I don't think my Malvern Hills is actually going to do as impressive a show as last year. Not for lack of buds, but because it's flowering in patches. It's currently flowering top left and bottom right, and then big chunk in the middle isn't yet showing colour. Whereas last year they all opened around the same time, so I got that huge full flush photo.
Still going to be great, just probably won't be able to capture that same sort of photo again. Whereas I might get that with Ghislaine this year.
Agree that the roses against Nollie's stone walls look great and very photogenic.
RE photo comp - I also think something like @celcius_kkw 's stunning balcony container photos could do very well!
@Nollie, I am wishing some day my munstead wood will grow like that. You have given him ideal conditions.Â
I never got around supporting or pruning my MIP. It was not even given any space and is next to fence. Yesterday I saw its state, totally flopped all over the other plants but has some promising buds on it.Â
@Eustace, you have been very lucky with unknown HTs. Each one is a beauty. Did you buy those in flower?
I have first tiny buds on my new Munstead and Malvern Hills. I'm back home and things are still in full swing. Phew. The whites and creams are starting now.

Thanks @newbie77 I have been growing these unlabelled HTs in pots for the past 10+ years and they've moved thrice during this period along with my change of jobs/home. Most of them were bought from the 'reduced' shelves of BnQ, HB, Tesc0 and some, even from £land. I dipped my toes into DAs and other shrub/floribunda varieties only after coming across @Marlorena's rose thread here in GW forum about 4 years ago. Since then, I have been rigorously labelling my roses.
Oxford. The City of Dreaming Spires.
And then my heart with pleasure fills,
And dances with the daffodils (roses). Taking a bit of liberty with Wordsworth

OK maybe Mme. Isaac Pereire has a prettier face:
Mustead Wood is looking handsome this morning:
And first bloom opening on own root MW:
The photo competition is interesting- if only I had some good camera… and more Austins! 📸 🌹Â
