@peteS looks like your leaves have been munched by critters (aphids?) when just forming. They will probably have moved on to younger, juicer stuff by the time the leaves have matured enough to open and show the damage. I get similar damage sometimes so anyone concur?Â
Mountainous Northern Catalunya, Spain. Hot summers, cold winters.
Thank you @Marlorena! I’m booked for 31st of May, fingers crossed there’s some lovely blooms. I’m going to take my lovely olympus om-d with me so hopefully I’ll finally have some rose photos to share Â
A quick question- I ordered a bareroot Tess of the d'Urbervilles very late in the season (early April I think), and she's growing nicely but slowly, only about twenty centimetres tall at the highest, but surprisingly already managed to produce a tiny bud! Do I cut it off so she can deploy her energy elsewhere, or let it bloom?
@Marlorena Many thanks for this suggestion. It does match to most of the photos, but on some it looks quite Tea rose like, which I don't really find. Foliage colour seems a good match too. The main point of contention for me would be size quoted as upto 0.75x0.60m. My rose is larger than this, around 1.0m x 0.80 at the time I dug it up to relocate. The blooms on my rose start from deep orange buds opening a really vivid yellow and fade as they age to a pale cream. Here are some photos from last couple of years showing the various stages of bloom development. again, many thanks for your kind thoughts on this  Â
@owd potter ..yes too tall for 'Korresia' and the foliage isn't quite right .. I think yours is 'Arthur Bell' actually, they both have orange stamens but you can see here how the foliage and blooms, buds etc are very similar. https://www.helpmefind.com/rose/l.php?l=21.306636
@WhereAreMySecateurs ... I would leave it on and enjoy what you have. There's no need to disbud grafted roses. Normal deadheading of the spent blooms is enough..

Gruss an Aachen beginning to show some deliciously lovely pinky blooms, and Desdemona showing blooms much more peachy pink than earlier ones.

As he was such a floppy fellow last year I have given this some support this year which seems to be helping so far
