I meant to say - my "Bring me sunshine" bare root and summer song brought at the same time are now happily sprouting red shoots.
Hoping this weather dosent impact the current glowing health in the garden! You can practically see your face in sweet syries polished leaves! I ended up digging up and potting "Simply Gorgeous" from styles I had bare root in Autumn as it just didnt seem very happy and wasnt growing much. Im not sure if it was too close to some of Albertines underground roots maybe or something else, but it seems ok in a pot for now. I will feed it more and leave it in there to see if it gets some decent growth on. My Birthday Boy with die back is now looking good on remaining stems, all growing now after its extra trim and blast with fungicide spray. Its getting a vine weevil nematode watering too just incase. Noticed last years occasional mildew / black spotters are looking lush too (purple tiger, bonkers), so well worth the clean up and spray! I think the strulch (mineralised straw mulch) is actually helping too, I assume the covering is stopping any spores still in the soil from splashing up.
Spiking newly turned beds can help @Mr. Vine Eye I use old electrical cable for this, cut into about 300mm lengths and stripped of the pvc insulation. Being copper it doesn't rust. Needs to be solid core cables tho'
Getting my ladies dressed for this season with some fresh mulch (in pots where there’s no crocuses) . Some of them are really waking up fast this year ! Now time to pressure wash the decking haha…Â
Thank you @Victoria Sponge ! ive been working hard to try and have colour all year there. Hellebores are such stars in the winter for colour Spotted a wren in and out of one of my nest boxes! Got a robin on shed and starling in front too (I think its a starling from flashes past the window... black, but seems a bit smaller than the blackbird, I dont want to get too close!)
@Mr. Vine Eye they dont seem to like the strulch... much though I love cats ive got a pair of neighbouring cats stalking the birds, I caught one on the shed after the robin nest. Dogs bark if they see them and Ive got a water pistol! Its safe from the dogs behind fences but it gets a rude (wet) dispersal if I catch it after wildlife. Tempted to put up a bit more trellis at the top to make it harder to balance and sit on the fence without risking the cats harm.

I was right about the cat poo... Mulching just turned the garden into a nice soft litter tray.

here we had freezing temps for 4 nights in a row..Â
my grass is uneven and I cannot even trim them when its raining.. Easy way to hide the messiness of your garden is to take night shots...
I do like your bird feeder walkway @JessicaS, it seems to look good all year.
