..yes, sorry about Sandra, Nollie, you've often said about her.. and a worthy Spanish tribute..
.. heavy rain here this morning, just what we needed in this often parched area.. everything looks so fresh afterwards, but long way off for any blooms from me..
@WhereAreMySecateurs ..I didn't realise you were in another country.  'Ballerina' black spotted for me here, all over the plant, so perhaps you were wise to choose another.  I hope 'GJ' does well for you..Â
Thanks folks. The amusing thing is that despite being pure bred with a distinguished pedigree name, here the pedigree has to be confirmed by a judge at a dog show. Always a feisty one, she bit the judge and he refused to award her final certificate on the basis she was too aggressive. Wherever she is now she will doubtless be causing trouble 😆Â
@Tack, early buds often come to nothing, warm days bring on lush new new growth but we have had bad frosts as late as April 18th. When summer comes it usually comes with a bang, so yes they take off fast then.
Mountainous Northern Catalunya, Spain. Hot summers, cold winters.
I've been busy clicking, so I did a little tour.. not a lot to see..
..mostly Old Roses in view..
'Scented Garden' nearest... 'Lady of Shalott'.. north end, Dry Border... it starts to flower early April.. nothing much before then.. Central bed... the yellow is Erysimum 'Golden Jubilee'..
So pretty. I love white daffs so much, but few of mine returned this year.
(Boring bio: I now live in England with my English husband, but I'm a transplanted Kiwi. We have the same climate, many of the same plants, and the same sensibilities, but my garden wakes up just as my mum's goes to sleep, and we can't share cuttings, divisions or seeds with each other.)
