Well done Nollie. Can you please send some thunder and downpour our way? The southerners can organise a whip round. Do you take PayPal?Â

I’m considering a Wollerton. It might be a bit if a packed double bloom for me, but I always swoon when I see your pics. I like the garden eating disposition. I’m going to take out a variegated euonymus always covered in mildew. And I need something huge to take it’s place.Â
Found my ailing Birthday boy seems to have snuffed it too It got some sort of disease and didn't recover in the hot spell when I was poorly. I will juggle some plants around and get another for over there, but not in the same hole. Theres a few things in that bed that would be fine for established roses but were perhaps overshadowing it before it was recovered I think, and they are in the wrong place.
Ive apparently got Bronchitis now post covid so wont be getting much gardening done this weekend either!
@newbie77love especially the shot with all the obelisks in the border. Your garden looks so intriguing! Hope you have a lovely holiday. It can be tough when your mum is far away...
@Fire I am also looking at WOH, assuming the drought ever ends and the ground becomes diggable againÂ
Rachel last night... slow grower so far.
Henri Delbard... like a beautiful satsuma. I love this one so much more than I thought I would. Looks like the flesh of a delicious fruit.
Newly-purchased Emily Bronte is hands down the best-smelling rose I have (better than Gertrude). Very "perfume-shop." Love the flatness / shallowness.
Sorry guys I’m hoarding every drop of rain 😆 It’s so lovely and fresh this morning, that sharp 14c temperature drop yesterday has made all the difference. Not too much damage, fortunately, except a long climbing cane of Alister Stella Gray was weighed down by a big truss of wet blooms and snapped at the tie.
Sorry to hear about your continued suffering @JessicaS. If you were feeling better I would suggest drastic rescue measures for your ailing roses - a good winter-style prune back, deep watering and feed. I’ve just done that with my Lady Emma Hamilton trio that was horribly diseased, defoliated and burnt. Um, but perhaps I should wait to see if they survive that unseasonal treatment first!

My Julia Child is sulkily giving me one bloom at a time. It was doing really well until I dug it out of the Mares Tail infested bed and put it back in a pot. Looks ok though. Mare Tail is not stopped by permeable weed membrane, it forces its way thouh the weave! So now I have put compost bags down as well, 1 month on I haven't seen a tip. Fingers crossed.
The garden roses are recovered from the heat.
The Lark Ascending is 7ft in its second season. I will rescue Sandringham from Rozanne this winter.Blush Noisette is a great, continuous performer
A few photos taken today, this thread has fallen off the front page 🥴 Blush noisette with L'aimant in the rear. Louise Odier First flower on my Louise Clements rose - needs to be repotted as I planted it too deep in the pot and needs support. Evelyn May with Timeless pink in the background. Walferdange - hope it is putting down good roots; I love the small flowers and the colour combination.

I asked for recommendations for a new rose a few weeks ago which you kindly gave me and I reported at the time that I had decided on Sweet Parfum de Provance from Eastcrofts. I was and still am delighted with my purchase and the rose. At the moment it has 14 buds and has had 5 flowers. As I open the back door I can smell it's lovely perfume. Again thank you for all your help.
These aren't fully open yet. Jude the obscure Lady of Shalott Queen of Sweden - standing tall as ever; more like an HT rose. It is at least 7 feet tall. Timeless Charisma looking like Garfield 😂 Super Dorothy - I deadheaded this only 2 weeks ago, fast second flush.
