My long waited ‘The Prince’ has finally arrived couple of days ago. I have ordered two from dewilde.nl and still waiting for another to flower. Â
@Nollie I am bit relieved that you’re not getting rid of the beloved ‘The Prince’.
@newbie77 I have got ‘The William Shakespeare’ from dewilde and I have attached pictures for your reference. I remember seeing your ‘The Prince’ pictures and I really hope that you have got the right ‘The Prince’Â
@Rojas, your The Prince and William Shakespeare are looking luxurious. I hope mine is "The Prince". Anyway it did look and smell nice. I have no flowers on both at the moment to compare. I have no space/budget to order any roses so whatever it is, I am keeping it.
Nollie here too the hot winds from Africa are blowing and the only plant that’s thriving right now is the Oleander. And unfortunately is going to be hotter and hotter next week, I am really worried for my roses.
amazing collection of roses cooldoc! Nice pics of lovely pups and I wish a speedy recovery for those with Covid
I've had a nice surprise - my sister has managed to get hold of a potted 'Elizabeth' from DAÂ for me (which appears to be back in stock) and my daughter's just said she'd order one as well - both birthday presents for me. I have two big empty terracotta pots which would do nicely!
@Rojas well you have definitely got the right Prince, thankfully, it’s looking fab, as is edhelka’s, which is a colour I very rarely get. Newbie, not so sure, the button does look promising but apart from the blooms, the two main tells for me were the redder new growth and the longer, flamboyant sepals. I can’t spot much difference in mature foliage/thorns.
My Lady Hillingdon blooms are opening white, another sign of heat stress, but it’s not exposed to really strong sun and is a tea, so surprising nonetheless.Â
I see they are forecasting potential temps of up to 40c in some parts of the UK, I hope it doesn’t get that bad, that’s rare even here!
Mountainous Northern Catalunya, Spain. Hot summers, cold winters.
Isn't it supposed to be yellow @Nollie How is the flowering and scent.. I am still on the fence about Celine Forrestier.. Its first year, but lack of scent is very obvious, not even a medium scent at the moment.. plenty of growth.. will wait and see how it does.. I love the way how the bloom changes shape and colour as it opens..
@edhelka I simply love your 'The Prince' dark velvety colour and the shape. Gorgeous As soon as I saw your pictures and @newbie77 I went out and anxiously opened up the centre to reveal the yellow stamens and phew it's there!Â
@Nollie Thank you for the reassurance. Does the sepals look like this? This one is yet to flower.

@Oliya you should contact DA again. Presumably they can replace your not-Elizabeth now.

The Prince foliage and thorns
Foliage is very similar. Some 5 some 7 leaves sets.Â
A done flower on The Prince. It seems to have right form and button eye.Â

Anyone else had a bad sleep due to heat?
