@celcius_kkw It's good to know one can grow Etoile in a pot at all and keep it in check, Mine is currently eating the shed.

@F@"Fran IOM"  What is the peachy rose please?

@Marlorena that sounds alarming -  to have an emergency bag packed and ready. I hope the flooding isn't too bad.

How horribly hair-raising. Take care, Marlorena.

Glad the water didn't reach your house, @Marlorena. You seem to have had the worst of the heat, and now this. Famine then feast.....I hope the garden is okay.

Yes it wet the ground, but not enough to help @Marlorena . You got it and Northern Lincolnshire.  The news has just announced Market Rasen is flooded, and maybe Louth ( which always gets flooded as its in the wolds) so piggy in the middle had showers.

Sorry @Marlorena for the flood, it should have been a frightening situation for you!

Thank you !.. we seem to be back to normal today.  The roads around here have few drains and what there are, seem to be partially blocked. The garden is sandy so it does drain through.
I'm expecting a plant delivery today from Ballyrobert.. not roses.. so I look forward to that..

..lovely photos @Eustace what do you think of The Wren?  I used to have it, but found the blooms had such a weak neck...

Yes, the flowers do have a weak neck. I was captivated by the promise of apricot floribunda blooms, though. As it is their first year here, I'm hoping that they will firm up in the next few seasons. :-
Oxford. The City of Dreaming Spires.
And then my heart with pleasure fills,
And dances with the daffodils (roses). Taking a bit of liberty with Wordsworth :)

  • Oh gosh @Marlorena glad it didn't come to the worst. I better check on my Cambridge friends.
Kindness is always the right choice.
