Hope everyone’s new growth survives the blizzards. We are back to heavy rain after a few day’s respite. Severe thunderstorms, then snow and -4c forecast for the weekend, gulp!

Can rose seeds still grow if they went a bit furry? 😬
  • Thanks @Marlorena, I've had a mild relapse but stayed inside today grumpily doing indoor jobs.

Hope you both are okay @Lizzie27 and your symptoms are not too bad.

I hope we could get some snow over the mountains, I would enjoy one last walk or hike with snow. I don't think we will see much snow down here, at the moment, it is still sunny.

@Marlorena I am looking forward to seeing more of 'The Enchantress', it caught my eye recently too.

Edit: Oh, and count me in the covid group too. But I am already over the peak. It was very cold-like, not at all covid-like. Runny nose, sore throat, that kind of stuff. Uncomfortable but not too bad.

Sorry I missed you out with get well wishes Victoria, this thread moves so fast with rose enthusiasm. I do hope you can shake it soon. As I hope too for you @edhelka
I don't know @Omori, I planted them anyway but not hopeful for those.

Yes get well soon @Lizzie27 and @Victoria Sponge. OH returned from the UK recently and said practically everyone she knew or met have had covid recently. Our neighbours and their 1yr old are recovering from a pretty bad dose, they say most children are asymptomatic or just shrug it off, but the poor little girl was not at all well and had to be seen by the paediatrician.

@Pianoplayer, I looked at my sorry Iceberg earlier and the two ’new’ canes were actually long laterals, so it hasn’t put out any new basals at all, in three years!

Rise in Covid cases again.. hope everyone recovers soon.. another excuse to stay home and enjoy your garden (though the weather is weird this week)..

@JessicaS bribing him with Xbox?? that's next level.. the new one is almost always sold out.. you have earned your garden pass for atleast 2 years (or till the next edition is released) :p

@Fire I almost ordered Draga during the bareroot season.. only reason I held back was the fragrance mentioned as medium by TW.. despite being a Frayla collection.. someone here had already purchased it.. will await the review..

Get well soon @Victoria Sponge, @lizzie27 and @edhelka.

No snow here and I am almost done with my gardening task list except mowing the lawn, cleaning patio and preparing dahlia bed. Hopefully I can do those tomorrow as I won't get dedicated time for weeks again. I did drop couple of things off the list, I had run out of time and energy.

All my roses have such beautiful clear foliage currently. Only two climbers have buds as I didn't prune those recently. Rest of them are far behind due to late pruning.

I got Draga from Trevor White as a bare root (marketed as Hallie) — will share updates later in summer

Hope the snow lets up soon and everyone gets better
