..^I wish my camera took pics like that... you've really captured the elements there..
@daisym .. so glad your rose is opening for you, I think things have got a bit delayed just lately, for many of us too..
@alexwildliferescue Heya... it's always best if you can get the wiring in place first as it's going to be awkward later, so hopefully you'll soon be able to sort that out.. meantime, all I would do perhaps, is insert a bamboo cane or some other support I might have, against the wall, inserting into the ground a little way if I could do that, and gently tie the shoot to it, being careful it doesn't snap off.  Other members might have different ideas on this, but it would offer a temporary solution.. but to be honest it's so young I probably wouldn't worry too much at this stage, it will send up shoots from below ground in due course, by which time you'll have the wiring in place.Â
As for horizontal training, forget it, just let it go up... all will be well.Â
At least we get to see you in the window... have fun..Â
@andrewnewton ...lovely 'Cornelia'... nice to see someone else with it..
..your white rose is R. alba 'Maxima'.. the Jakobite Rose..
@Marlorena Many thanks for identifying my rose. I have also got Felicia, which I believe is more frequently grown. I'm hoping they'll both turn into lovely shrubs
Yep, while I was away the roses came out to play, well, most of them. Ghislaine Almost open blooms on Generous Gardener are beautiful. Falstaff flowering a whole month earlier than last year and with a fuller bloom. How is your WS2000 @Nollie? Arthur Bell Munstead Wood, holding well in the rain Roald Dahl, beautiful colour, shame about the lack of fragrance to my nose. Anyone else who grows it get any scent? Own root Tea rose, I have several of these about. Vanessa Bell. My new bare roots are a bit away from flowering, so still more to look forward to Â

Fragrant cloud, princess Alexandra of Kent and golden celebration.
Someone asked about Emily Brontë thorniness, I can't find the post now. It is not thorny, looks extra smooth near my munstead wood.Â
Augusta Louise and Aquarelle opening up, like two sisters.
