Morning all, hope you’ve all got the bank holidays off of work!
First little bloom on my ferdinand pichard cutting, it has 3 buds on it now! Finding it quite amusing that this cutting has flowered more prolifically than the bareroot I had ever did!!
@Fire yes im a fan of the books too, double win for a lovely rose. I think its bare root only these days. Pretty Red foliage too. Follows the austin 3 years to hit stride rule then just goes all summer. Virtually Thornless too! Sturdy stems. Mines huge itd probably climb.
@peteS yes im starting to see how it won too, a friend has it as well and is likewise impressed.
@pitter-patter id happily subscribe to your garden magazine too! Stunning. That orange geums a real knockoutÂ
Glorious sunshine already today and 4 day weekend so garden for me!
My vase, summer song is such an unusual rose and madam Issac P is pure heaven of fragrance. It is still looking nice after 3 days. Pink purple border is in full bloom but yellow and orange still in buds. My potted cut flowers garden is looking sparse, I have been cutting a lot of flowers. Abraham Darby twins are doing good, young lycidas are drooping as always, and my Evelyn has buds, waiting for it to flower.Â
Yuech Omori. Nope not getting Gertrude, not ever...
So many lovely roses there newbie, I could pack more in at the front of the border maybe. Good to see what others achieve.
I was very tempted by Belle du Jour when it won ROTY, hearing these recommendations I still am, thank you.
I hope your Heidi gets its oomph back Nollie. After saying out of stock last winter TCL did send me one but it isn't looking great, a bit mildewy and slow to start.
Lovely gardens @pitter-patter@newbie77. All the rose photos posted on this thread is keeping me relaxed and entertained, more than any vacation. So, it is a 4 day holiday at my home/garden.
Parfum royal, Serenade, Royal celebration, Rosa de Rescht, a few Sisyrinchium from my unruly back garden and Roald Dahl.
Here is a glimpse of my potted HT roses.
Oxford. The City of Dreaming Spires.
And then my heart with pleasure fills,
And dances with the daffodils (roses). Taking a bit of liberty with Wordsworth
Jessica, you were so right about Rose des Cisterciens. It's just lovely catching the sun this beautiful morning. Can anyone advise on the scent and thorniness of Emily Bronte, please?
