@peteS I had mine early last year as a bare root bargain gardening express pot luck mix and that was one of the ones I got. Its very nicely upwards facing and covered in buds agreed. The peachy tones are lovely.
Eden / pierre de Ronsard is gorgeous but notoriously hangs downwards. Im hoping as it gets taller itll be easier to see the undersides a bit. Ive tied these in to show them better!
Came back from the coast yesterday evening and on 4 days the roses have definitely evolved .needed to deadhead this morning but nothing to drastically .
charles Emp IV first flower.
Gret’s Joy merging with GdF. I really like the combination of the two together. Totally different but giving interest.Â
Robe Fleuri3. I like it , healthy and the bees love it.
Julia Child keeping its reputation 😉GdF and Maria Lisa with chives . The picture does not do it justice .
Everyone's Gdf's are going to be magnificent, all those buds!
Nice to see Eden Jessica as I have 2 new ones. I knew about the drooping so thought it ok for the standard, what I wasn't expecting was that Tuincentrum Lottum chucked in a freebie climber. That will flower soon but is only 10cmm off the ground so I hope the ants appreciate it.
I reckon you are right as usual @Marlorena,now I've looked at pics of what Artemis should look like, mine isn't that. I'm not surprised though, the first "Artemis" I received was pink, it was replaced in the autumn with this. It is very white with faint pink edges, muddled petals and no discernable scent. A hard one to identify I expect but any ideas? It came from Italy, ordered via an english online outlet (Garden Plants Online!) that I used for getting a specific shrub but used the delivery charge as an excuse for the rose. The company only offers one rose of each colour and type so it isn't one of their other offerings. I guess the Italian supplier has much more varied stock. I wouldn't use this company again.
The warm glowing tones of Julia Child are wonderful. Today it smells like cherries…Â
Lady Waterlow, the petals of this rose always find a way of arranging themselves in a most wondrous way. The lower part of this rose is rather bare, so I’m thinking of growing a short clematis next to it. Or notching… 🤔Â
Rhapsody in BlueÂ
Nadia, wonderfully scented and beautiful shades of red. I moved this one to the front garden and now I regret.Â
Needing no introduction, Harlow Carr in full glory if a bit lopsided…
I think I've decided on a Ghislaine/Buff Beauty combo for my last bed opening in the autumn. I'd like to do it now (taking out a planter) but I'm going away over the summer - so not great timing if I do it now.
Lovely photos everyone. @pitter-patter the combination of Rhapsody in Blue with the foxglove is just wonderful.
Two good things for me this morning. A flower on Eustacia Vye and buds on Parkdirektor Riggers, (difficult to spot against the mossy stone wall behind, but four buds there and a couple on another stem.) I thought I'd lost P. Riggers early last year but some TLC has brought about a revival, so I do hope it goes from strength to strength.
Spent the morning at Sissinghurst, I thought I may be visiting a little early but it was beautiful. The white garden is exquisite as is the rose garden. The scent was out of this world.
I was surprised how many many roses were on flower. Only downside was there were few labels so I need some ID help.
Is this a moss rose? There were lots of roses on walls.
Any ideas? My camera has made it more pink than it was.
