Sounds good Woodgreen, but when you go upstairs and look out the bedroom window and decide the plan needs tweaking, you can adjust the hosepipe in 5 minutes. The grass takes two weeks to grow. All the same, mower friendly curves are definitely a good thing.
Point taken @BenCotto. My pet peeve though when watching garden makeovers on TV is always "How the heck would you mow that?" I find that mowable curves are easy on the eye, and on the person behind the machine (me!)
The answer's obvious @VictorMeldrew!! Join up those two beds in the middle so you can just mow round them and have loads more interesting plants to fill up the new space.
A good plan indeed! I'll discuss it with the boss, but I anticipate some resistance
Clay soil - Cheshire/Derbyshire border. I play with plants and soil and sometimes it's successful

Ah well, that’s make-over programmes for you … most are about as realistic and practical as a shop window display. 🙄
Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.
So I keep enjoying the content of the programs (bar the viewers gardens) and I really like Monty's fill them full approach (simply hate bare soil on show), however I hate the new camera work. When the long time cameraman left this spring I would never have guessed things would change so much, I'm not sure what they are aiming to show but filming the presenters face in shadow with bright skies behind seems pointless to me.
I like a nice full border without soil showing as well. To be honest the only camerawork thing I would moan about is that I'd like them to point the camera more at the plants or the seed tray or whatever's being talked about or demonstrated, and less at the presenter's face (whoever it is, nothing particular against Monty's face).
Doncaster, South Yorkshire. Soil type: sandy, well-drained

Yes ... totally agree.

Remember the programme is on TONIGHT at 9pm and is not back until 22nd July. If you want a gardening "fix", Carol Klein's new series "Summer Gardening" begins next Friday (15th) at 7pm on Channel 5.
" This week, in a special programme, Gardeners’ World comes from the RHS Hampton Court Palace Garden Festival. Adam Frost, Carol Klein and Joe Swift reveal the highlights of the show gardens, meet the designers and growers and share the season’s must-have flowers and plants on display at the biggest flower show in the world. Plus a catch-up with Gardeners’ World presenter Sue Kent, who has designed and created her first ever show garden."
