We've been away, so I haven't seen the latest episode yet and I'm really looking forward to it.

And here are two photos of MD that reflect the pleasures and changes time brings.
    Time steals and time gives!

Such lovely photos!  Thank you, Artemis.

By the way, where are your holiday photos???

    8.30 tonight.

" Monty Don undertakes more seasonal jobs at Longmeadow. Arit Anderson meets a garden designer in Somerset who has worked in harmony with nature to create a garden on a former brownfield site, and Rachel de Thame explores the London garden of hairstylist Sam McKnight.

A grower from Suffolk shares her obsession with tomatoes, and there's a gardener who has created a Japanese-inspired garden at his home in Bristol.

And more viewers share what they’ve been getting up to in their gardens."

It wasn't a holiday.  We went to Ely for the wedding of OH's niece.  It was lovely but all the photos have "faces" in them; so, no photos this time!
  • I've been making my husband put the plug in when he showers, which is really upsetting him 😁. It's not as bad as having to scoop all the water out like I've been doing!

I can't decide whether the programme has had a change of producer/director *, but yet again l watched it the whole way through.

I particularly enjoyed the "previous brownfield site" garden and the hairstylist's garden. I think it was just nice to see colourful plants and a green lawn ! I could definitely see the Great Dixter influence.

*There was a shot of Monty standing at a top of a ladder talking directly to camera which struck me as something a bit different.
I wish he'd worn some form of eye protection when he was dealing with that rose. I could hardly bear to look.

I loved it too, as usual!

Get him to scoop it out too and carry it to the garden. :o

I concur with the tomato lady in Suffolk…..dead jealous of those lovely toms. I grew some “midnight snack” (a red and black variety) a couple of years ago, delicious! This year I’m trying green zebra, it’s not ready to pick yet so I don’t know how it’ll taste. I must look out for that huge one, I think it was called black pineapple, what a stunner.

Yes, a very enjoyable programme last night. Like @AnniD I particularly enjoyed the brownfield site. What a gorgeous place to spend time in.
    Clay soil - Cheshire/Derbyshire border

I play with plants and soil and sometimes it's successful

  • I cringed when tomato lady put a big knife through a tom with her hand underneath, please don't try that at home.
What was the name she/they gave to the group (not the specific type) of toms she was growing? It's something I forgot and need to follow up.
