Caught up with the programme last night and was once again left feeling slightly frustrated. The world's biggest flower show condensed into an hour is obviously going to be a big ask, especially when Chelsea gets so much coverage. I liked Sue Kent's garden, so pleased it went well for her.
I liked her garden too @AnniD and the new designer they featured. He talked a lot of sense. Carol was informative as ever and Adam's delight in the plants and combos in the gardens as well as dahlia man's display was infectious. I can do with less of Joe and less of "Still to come" which precious time could be used for showing us something interesting.

Yes, @pundoc, but her garden wasn't meant to be ground breaking design but designed for gardeners with limited physical abilities like her own. It had to be easy to plant and care for and that does limit both hard landscaping and the planting palate.

" Monty is back at Longmeadow, getting stuck into some seasonal jobs.
Arit Anderson and Nick Bailey present highlights from RHS Flower Show Tatton Park in Cheshire. They share the latest design advice from the show gardens and the must-have plants of the season from the flower-filled floral marquee.
Also, Carol Klein salutes the floral glories of high summer when she visits a garden in Somerset, and we meet another tree champion as we continue our celebration of the Queen’s Green Canopy. "
Another programme that l watched in full. It does frustrate me that Tatton, like Hampton Court, is shoehorned into the programme when Chelsea coverage could be described as "overkill". I know it's not as big a show, but surely it warrants an hour's coverage.
I thought the garden that Carol visited was lovely, some beautiful planting. I assume it is someone's private garden, possibly open for the NGS .
I don't know much about growing potatoes, apart from a couple of attempts at growing them in bags, but l thought that they did need a fair amount of water ? Monty is hoping to get a harvest of 100 cucumbers which do need water. I eat a lot of salad and l like cucumbers, but 100 ? He said they save the water for the pots at Longmeadow, but those greenhouse plants must use a fair bit as well. I'd be interested to know what any potato growers think.
Never heard of Roscoea before, but my interest was piqued. Loved that nursery.
I found it quite painful to watch this week. We have had such drought that even shrubs and trees are dying and my garden looks like a wasteland. We had a little rain on June 7th, when it was already very dry and then an hour or two yesterday. Their gardens looked so lush! And Carol spoke of the glories of the summer garden. I have many of the plants she showed, but they are all crisped and dead. Oh well, perhaps next year....
I was wondering when it had been filmed, surely not in the last week! Maybe in a couple of weeks' time, we will see a load of frazzled plants at Longmeadow!
