    That would explain it.

I've just caught up with this and enjoyed it, this is another episode that l have watched from beginning to end.
The cottage garden was lovely, l had to smile at the lady saying she was always planning what needed doing next. I could definitely relate to that.
Also enjoyed the segment with Arit and the people in London "re-greening" spaces.
Seemed to be quite a lot of knautia Macedonia featured in the programme  :)

I thought Monty looked "off colour", noticed it on the Chelsea coverage as well.

    8pm tonight.

"The team head to Birmingham for one of the highlights of the horticultural calendar - the annual Gardeners’ World Live event.

Monty Don, Arit Anderson, Nick Bailey, Adam Frost and Rachel de Thame inspire us with the best design tips from the show gardens and explore the wealth of plants on offer in the floral marquee. We catch up with Frances Tophill, who has designed and created her very first show garden, and we also meet expert growers who share their passion for penstemons and hydrangea."

I always find these types of programmes very frustrating. GW Live is a big show, but there was a lot of attention paid to Frances' show garden (fair enough, she's a GW presenter l suppose), and we saw hardly anything of any of the others.
I could have done without the interminable walk along the canal towpath with the whizzy camera effects.

Adam and Arit seem to get on really well, l wish we could have seen more of them looking at more gardens.

The Green Jjam nursery piece about penstemons drove me mad.
l don't want to see your husband faffing about with your hair (even my OH roused himself enough to ask what on earth that was all about),  l want to see your plants, ideally on your stand at the show we are talking about. Green Jjam usually have lovely stands at these shows.
Apparently several stands did a tie in with 100 years of the BBC hence the "Repair Shop" style on the Hardys stand, and a quick glimpse of the Only Fools and Horses 3 wheeler, and the Tardis.

I did enjoy the piece about the Drag Queen gardener, what a lovely young man. I hope he does get the chance to design his own garden next year. Not envious of his legs at all 😊.

Hopefully the forum members who are going to visit post more photos on the GW Live thread.

Be interesting to know what other viewers made of it.

I totally agree with all you said, @AnniD. I’d love to be the ‘critical friend’ to the GW production team. I’d give them a big slice of tongue pie.

@AnniD funny how we are all so different. I loved seeing so much of Frances garden, and the walk along what inspired her. I really enjoyed last night's programme, far more than I have other recent episodes

Good job we are all different, I thought the lad was far to full of himself, look at me I am the only gay in the village.
How can you lie there and think of England

I enjoyed last night's programme but felt we could have seen more of the other show gardens.   The coverage was even less balanced than Chelsea in that respect.   I also thought the drag queen was nothing out of the ordinary these days.

It would be more interesting to see what the Autistic Gardener and his team are up to if the Beeb wants to up its diversity credentials.
