Nothing wrong with someone liking an attractive face ... but I really don't see how someone's level of attractiveness makes them better or worse at doing their job.
What skills did Rachel bring other than being a beautiful retired dancer? Her gardening background , skills and knowledge are pretty basic .
I don’t know any more than what her wiki page tells us … a two year practical horticulture course and proven experience in walking and talking at the same time in front of a camera without falling over or sounding like an idiot or a wooden doll … something that’s harder than many people think … I’m not her biggest fan … I think she’s adequate at the job she does … I understand her health problems have precluded many appearances over the past few years … otherwise she might have developed her role. Some of the other presenters weren’t any great shakes in their earlier days. I find Frances Tophill’s diction difficult and her language style repetitive but on paper she appears very well qualified for the job.

It's a shame that " adequate " is the best GW could find . I wonder how thorough the advertising / interview process was?
Nothing wrong with someone liking an attractive face ... but I really don't see how someone's level of attractiveness makes them better or worse at doing their job. Perhaps you could explain?
And ivory ?!!! ... how very 20th century of you ... it's been on the CITES banned list for over 30 years dontchya know ... when you're in a hole it's probably best to stop digging 🤣
Gladly... Yes, I do find her attractive - I'm a hetrosexual bloke - I find alot of women attractive - so what? Do you want me apologise for that? Nor did I mention that her appearance influenced or had any bearing regarding my views on her credentials. You appear to have assumed I did. FWIW I find her knowledagble, a good presenter and, as an aside, quite pretty ..apologies if that offends you but I've no idea why it would?

Ivory Tower..metaphor?.. oh nevermind.
It doesn’t offend me at all … I’ve already said that … I just don’t see why anyone finds the appearance of anyone of whichever/whatever gender, relevant to their ability to do a job or worthy of mention which is what we were discussing.
You said that you don’t Fast Forward when she’s on; in the context of the discussion when you posted, the implication of that was, because you find her attractive it didn’t really matter what she was saying … if I misunderstood you I apologise, but then I’m left puzzled as to the reason for your post.

It does seem to have lost it’s way a little so far this season, funny that they could take out the viewers videos or some of the other fluff and shown Monty working on the sections (like the dry garden) and as someone else said a fair few pages back, shown him potting up plants and clearing the ground, maybe talking more about why he is removing/keeping things?
I’m not sure they know what they’re doing, I like JJ but it did seem like they didn’t really know what to do with the segment, could have talked about how to make compost then gone onto his craft etc
I’m not sure they know who their target market is at the moment!
"What happened to the..." everything, pretty much.
Monty sowed some scabiosa seed late last autumn. I'd love to see how many germinated and what they look like now if you start them that early, rather than sow in spring. For some reason, only about 1/3 - 1/2 of mine sown this spring have germinated so far. I'm sure Monty's were 100% successful what with his fancy wooden seed compost press thing, but either way, I'd like to see!
"It’s the Easter bank holiday, and at Longmeadow, Monty turns his attention to planting up his new bog garden and sows cucumber and melon seeds.
Adam Frost heads to a beautiful walled garden that is both ornamental and productive in West Sussex. It’s the first visit of the year to Sue Kent’s garden near Swansea as she reveals news about an exciting new project. In Lancashire, we meet a national collection holder of hepatica, and a houseplant enthusiast shares his passion for indoor gardening.
Gardeners’ World viewers also share the joy that their gardens bring them."
