Re Monty’s tulips, would they have taken them out of the pots & put them straight in the ground to die back, or die back in pots then dried them out & planted them in the winter?
I would like more explanation in the program on how things are done rather than assuming viewers just know. Adam frost was digging and adding manure then said once he’s added the manure he “turns that back on” what does that mean? He didn’t show it so I’m just assuming he meant putting the next trench of soil onto the original lot he dug out or is he putting it onto the manure? As a now ‘fairly’ new gardener I’m not sure sometimes what they mean on GW.
I have tulips in pots which are looking lovely now but I’m wondering what to do with them when they finish flowering, maybe Monty will show us how in a few weeks?
.... Adam frost was digging and adding manure then said once he’s added the manure he “turns that back on” what does that mean? ...
I thought he was saying 'turn that back in' ... i.e. dig the next trench, turn the soil from the second trench into the first, thus covering the manure, then put manure into the second trench, dig the third turning the soil from that one into the second, and so on. At the end of the garden you'll have the soil from the first trench still on the surface... put that in a barrow or tub and take it to the other end and fill the last trench in with it, on top of the manure.

I'm glad it wasn't just me that was confused by Adam's comments when it came to the digging. OH and me looked at each other and l actually rewound it to make sure l'd heard him correctly. A shame he's left the lovely house and garden behind. I think l'm right in saying that he had established a gardening school there. Does that mean he's ended that as well ?
It was nice to see some Monty sense of humour a couple of times when it came to the begonias and loofahs. It really lifts the mood for me.
I thought the potter/gardener was tempting fate when he said his "sitooterie" had lasted safely for so long. Was the base of the roof made of plywood ?
From what I have heard Adam has health worries in the family and has moved from Barnack back to his old house which he was previously renting out. I don’t know if the gardening school is continuing at the old place but I guess he’s now focussing his efforts on consultancy, gardening and lecture tours.
Ah I thought it looked remarkably similar to his previous garden. That would explain it. It must be so hard to have left the other house and garden behind.

Ahh ok thank you Dovefromabove! Think I have got it now, and AnniD I’m glad I wasn’t the only one I did wonder if I should post my confusion or if everyone would think I was particularly stupid 🤣 I hope all is ok with Adam as I really like his style and calm demeanour.
