Morning all. Hope your knees let you get your game of tennis in Dove. Stressful day yesterday. Lots to do anyway but then the treasurer of the small association I chair decided to resign so there was a bit of back and forth with him. No bad thing really, he was an absolute stickler for the rules despite the fact that we only ever have about 6 - 8 people turning up to our meetings. My friend from the US will be coming to see me this afternoon. He will be staying the night but our house is too small so I'm putting him up in a local b&b. Hoping to squeeze in a visit to our local artisan cheese farm as my friend also runs an artisan cheese farm in the US. OH making his special curry for supper tonight. Must get on - hoovering to do! (Sorry @nannybeach)
Morning all. Light dusting of Saharan sand on the car this morning but the rain will soon wash it off. Very cloudy sky but it is a pale yellow rather than the usual grey so the garden will be getting a light sand mulch today.
There is no way we can take refugees, unfortunately. We do not have ensuite and hub is still recovering from surgery - still having the district nurse in daily, even 3 months after the op. And then there are 4 dogs. So we'll do what we can and when.
Greetings all.  Still got funny skies here but the roofers have been and fixed the leaks and treated the entire thing for moss.  They said the rain will rinse it all but none forecast in the next 10 days. Typical.
More painting for me - another radiator cover, more chair struts and some door frame trims I shall be putting in place later. Previous owners erected new internal walls all over but didn't finish the door frame surrounds. No skirting boards in 3 of the bedrooms either.  Odd way of working but if I can get that all finished off in the next few days we'll be ship-shape for potential guests.
Having abandoned painting yesterday I managed to prick out lots of babies - some wildflower mix and nigella. No idea what the former will grow up to be but very pleased with the nigella as I could never get them to grow in the Belgian garden.
Great news from Iran but I shall only believe it when their feet are on UK soil.
