That made me laugh, @D0rdogne_Damsel !
I remember going shopping in my lunch hour with a very young colleague, and she insisted on carrying my shopping bags! And that was when I was in my early 50s! In fairness, I was probably older than her mum, but it made me feel like it!

Lovely visit from niece and her two friends … they enjoyed the food … lots of chat and catching up … now they’ve more or less digested their supper they’re off to the gym … oh to have that sort of energy 😂. I’m flopped on the sofa … OH is finishing in the kitchen … I suspect we might both have an early night 🥱 all this socialising is exhausting. 😉

I know just what you mean @Dovefromabove, I felt the same after my DIL departed.

Are you looking after all three grandchildren for a bit @Busy-Lizzie? That would certainly floor me.

Haven't had rabbit stew for a good few years, in a very remote pub on the Devon/Cornwall border if I remember correctly. It was absolutely delicious.

No @Lizzie27. The 2 big ones go to school, as does teacher Mum, my daughter 2.

Lizzie, you’re right - Pixel is a darling.  I was surprised last evening when she left the back of the lounge chair she had been napping on, walked down to my lap and gave me a head rub, then back up to her perch.  I was amazed!  I think she must have spent most of the night on the foot of our bed. I never know until morning when I wake. 🤭

it’s cold this morning. Cloudy, but I don’t think we will get rain.
You all sound so busy gardening. Our gardens are getting ready for winter so there’s nothing urgent for me to do. Hubby is still trying to keep up with cutting grass for an hour of so each day, but he gets very tired, so he just does what he can, then flops on the lounge chair and has a nap.😁. Whatever! as the young one say!

    Good morning all 😊 ☕️
Hope everyone had a restful night. Tennis later this morning … if my knee behaves … otherwise not a lot planned … supper will be leftovers so I may well hold the sofa down and do some knitting this afternoon …

  • Morning @Dovefromabove and @Pat E :)

Very calm day here after yesterday's wind. I have a batch of fishcakes and a Steak and Ale Pie to do this morning to get the freezer stocked up.

It is our French conversation group today but unfortunately they are going to have to sit in the room with the window shutters down, they are electric and the circuit has blown and the electrician can't come until tomorrow. Hopefully, a starter for the conversation.

    Delivery here, must dash.

    Havea good day all.

Good morning everyone - afternoon @Pat E (and Pixel)

Grey and dull and more rain expected tomorrow.  The vineyards will benefit from this as the soil (stony sandy clay) near the coast is very salty. The vineyards get flooded (on purpose) around this time of year anyway.

Preparing and sorting seeds - again - for possible sowing but everything is cold and damp still.  Once this front has passed we should get some decent "sowing" weather.

@Dovefromabove    Enjoy your tennis game.  @D0rdogne_Damsel   Steak and Ale pie sounds delicious on a cold grey day like today!!

I hope you all have a good day today.
