Deafening dawn chorus today, lovely sound to wake up to. Sunny and quite warm, got the tree surgeon coming today, to sort out some of the carnage from the storms.
How can you lie there and think of England When you don't even know who's in the team
Morning all, grey and chilly and rain forecast for later. @didyw I have watched a couple of thrillers that were adapted from books and the endings were completely different, so I don't bother now as I would be shouting at the tv "that's not how it ends in the book"! My neighbour says she has seen baby fish in our pond, I watched for ages yesterday and didn't see them, but then she does smoke strange substances.
Morning everyone, I was at Capel Manor yesterday, then after a smarten up, off to SD'S, she had a big birthday yesterday. The proper do is not till next weekend, so this was just immediate family. Wonderfully mild day yesterday and it seems we will get more next week. Let's hope winter doesn't have a sting in it's tail like last year.Â
Morning all. Bright and sunny at the mo. Off for a blood test soon, I think to test that, having upped my levothyroxine to 100 last time, the levels are indeed correct.
Morning folks  Floralies, maybe that's where my fish have gone then! Spoke to youngest daughter a while back, she's very down, about housing, cost of living, etc. Suggested she bump off dad and I. She said she'd hire a hitman,I said save the money,do a DIY job,we only have a double and single bedroom, her kids are sharing. Said to keep the Money for an extension!!!!
Morning folks, Hope you feel better soon DD. Hope the mozzies don't bite Pat and that you stay safe. I've nothing planned for today. We are having a delivery of wood for the burner, it seems to be the only fuel at the moment that hasn't gone up in price. A kind neighbour is going to help us to stack it in the wood shed. I was hoping to get in the garden but it's raining at the moment so that's on hold. Whatever you are up to stay safe. Â
Morning everyone. Not been on here for a while - life just seemed to get in the way somehow. Have tried reading back but now cant remember a thing, so just say that I hope you are all feeling/coping ok. Bit of bad news here. Wednesday evening young grandson tried a covid test having been told at school that the child sitting next to him had a positive test. Grandson's test showed faint red line and by Thursday it was a strong red line. He's ok just a bit sniffly and offish. Luckily he lives across the mountain with his Dad on their farm - his school is over that way and we have no way of getting him there in the mornings with daughter at work. He spends most weekends here with us, but last weekend daughter had gone down to Sussex for a family birthday so young grandson wasn't here. But daughter did spend Monday afternoon with him at the farm after school hours when he would probably have been incubating the virus?? She is now isolating but where does that leave me? I'm just trying to keep away from her for now. The worst part is that on Sunday it is grandson's 14th birthday and we had family coming for the weekend, a small party of school friends arranged for Sunday and today he was booked in to the Botanical Gardens to attend a private 'flying session' of their raptors. Poor lad! We have delayed everything for a couple of weeks or so but it is not the same. ps. daughter has just tested negative - for the moment.
Miserable out this morning, raining and windy. Very dismal. Good luck with the blood test @didyw. I am currently limping along on 50micrograms, having spent 7 months on 25 since diagnosed last July. Next blood test not till June, I’m surprised that it is such a slow process. Bought some repotting compost, so I’ll refresh some of the house plants today. Not tempted to venture outside.
Fingers crossed for you all @AnnaB. A disappointment that everything has to be delayed for a couple of weeks but that does give him a bit longer to look forward to it!
What surprises me @Ergates, is that more women aren't routinely checked for their thyroid levels. I had to ask to get my diagnosis, years ago, and only did that because my mother really suffered around the time of her menopause and it took ages for her to get diagnosed with low thyroid. Including a spell on antidepressants! You say you are 'limping along'. That sounds like too low a dose so I would ask for a blood test sooner rather than later. But of course I can only go with my own experience.
